As an OT Integration & Data Engineer, you will connect renewable assets, SCADA environments, and industrial data platforms with Greenvolt's enterprise and asset management solutions. You will act as the technical bridge between OT, IT, Asset Management, and technology partners, strengthening internal ownership of the OT data integration layer and supporting the seamless integration of operational data across the organization. You will own or coordinate OT communication requirements, network and data-flow documentation, secure remote-access solutions, industrial protocol governance and technical troubleshooting, while supporting cybersecurity monitoring, asset onboarding and the implementation of Greenvolt’s OT security standards.
Main responsibilities
- Design, implement and maintain integrations between SCADA, plant systems, historians, monitoring platforms and enterprise solutions.
- Design, review and maintain secure OT communication architectures for renewable assets, including SCADA networks, plant LANs, OT DMZs, remote sites and the connectivity between OT and enterprise environments.
- Manage OT/IT interfaces and industrial communications using OPC UA, Modbus TCP, MQTT, IEC 60870-5-104, IEC 61850, DNP3, SNMP, TCP/IP and secure file or API-based integrations, where applicable including tag mapping, naming conventions and plant-edge data standardization.
- Administer or coordinate industrial historians and time-series platforms, ensuring appropriate data collection, availability, retention and retrieval.
- Monitor data pipelines and interfaces, identifying missing, delayed or inconsistent data and resolving protocol, connectivity and integration issues.
- Define and apply standards for data quality, metadata, asset hierarchies and technical documentation across countries and technologies.
- Support onboarding of new and acquired assets, including integration requirements, commissioning data and interface validation.
- Coordinate technical activities with EPCs, OEMs, O&M providers and digital platform vendors.
- Work with OT Technology Assurance, Operational Asset Reporting and IT Data & Analytics to ensure operational data is fit for reporting and analytics.
- Support the implementation of OT network segmentation, security zones, conduits, firewalls, routing rules and controlled interfaces in alignment with Greenvolt standards and ISA/IEC 62443 principles.
- Define and coordinate secure remote-access OT connectivity for employees, OEMs, EPCs and O&M providers, including access approval workflows, jump-host or bastion solutions, privileged access, session monitoring and removal of obsolete access paths.
- Provide technical assurance throughout the asset communications lifecycle, reviewing communication and cybersecurity deliverables during design, FAT, SAT, commissioning, handover, acquisition, repowering and major system changes.
- Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, Computer Science, or a related engineering discipline.
- 5+ years of experience in OT data, industrial systems integration, automation or a comparable engineering role.
- Strong knowledge of OPC UA, Modbus, MQTT, SCADA data models, industrial communications.
- Experience in renewables, utilities or industrial environments with strong knowledge of IEC 62443 and OT cybersecurity principles.
- Hands-on experience integrating SCADA, PLC, historian or industrial monitoring environments with enterprise platforms.
