The community program coordinator implements, manages, and evaluates client-centred programs in an integrated Corps/ Community Services setting, ensuring programs meet community needs in a culturally diverse context.

About the role
As a Community & Centre Coordinator, this is your opportunity to lead a vibrant community hub, delivering inclusive programs, partnerships and initiatives that respond to local needs and strengthen community connection. Coordinate community programs, partnerships, volunteers and major initiatives across the Auburn Corps & Community Centre.
Reporting to the Corps Leader, this is a permanent, full-time role based onsite in Auburn, NSW.
How you will make an impact
- Coordinate community programs and the day-to-day activities of a busy community centre, ensuring a safe, welcoming and well-managed environment.
- Lead the delivery and continuous improvement of community programs and services that respond to local needs.
- Recruit, support and develop volunteers, staff and community participants to maximise engagement and impact.
- Build and maintain strong partnerships with community organisations, schools, churches, government agencies and other stakeholders.
- Oversee community events, fundraising initiatives, referrals and support programs that strengthen community connection and wellbeing.
- Monitor compliance, reporting, grant opportunities and operational systems to support effective and sustainable service delivery.
What you will bring
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Community Services, Social Sciences, Human Services, Business Administration, Community Development or a related discipline; or equivalent combination of qualifications and demonstrated experience.
- Demonstrated experience coordinating community programs, people and partnerships, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a community, not-for-profit or customer-focused environment.
- Sound understanding of Work Health and Safety, safeguarding, risk management and compliance requirements in a community services setting.
- Strong administrative, organisational and communication skills, including report writing and record management.
- Ability to work within and support The Salvation Army's mission, values and Christian ethos through professional practice, community engagement and service delivery.
- A Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check is required
- Drivers Licence (if required for tool of trade car or pool car access)
- A Valid NSW Working With Children Check

Compensation is in accordance with SCHADS Level 4
