About The Role
Summary:
Sharp is a global leader in clinical supply chain services and pharmaceutical packaging, supporting pharma and biotech clients from early-phase trials through to commercial launch. We are recruiting a Logistics Specialist to join our team in Rhymney, Wales. Acting as the main contact for allocated clients and studies, you will coordinate compliant, accurate and timely international shipments while delivering a high standard of customer service.
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Serve as the main contact for allocated clients and studies, providing clear updates and coordinating meetings or calls as required.
· Coordinate international shipments from origin to destination, working with couriers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, depots and relevant agencies.
· Prepare, review and administer accurate shipping and customs documentation, including invoices, bills of landing and customs declarations.
· Classify goods and support the correct calculation of duties and taxes, ensuring compliance with HMRC requirements and international trade regulations.
· Manage the logistics requirements of allocated distribution projects and depots, including the distribution, retrieval, return and destruction of clinical trial materials.
· Review project information, identify missing data or documentation, and provide shipping advice in line with client requirements and technical agreements.
· Maintain reports and invoicing information, escalate delays and recommend practical solutions.
· Follow Sharp policies, SOPs, client instructions and applicable GMP and GDP requirements.
· Support wider projects when required.
Essential:
· Relevant logistics, import/export or freight-forwarding experience.
· Working knowledge of international trade regulations, customs procedures, Incoterms and HMRC import/export requirements.
· Experience preparing and checking shipping and customs documentation.
· Client or account management experience, with clear written and verbal communication skills.
· Strong organisation, accuracy and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
Preferred:
· Experience in a regulated healthcare, pharmaceutical or clinical trials environment.
· SAP experience.
· Dangerous Goods training.
· A valid driving licence.
