Role and Responsibilities
- Team Leadership: Provide day-to-day direction and support to housekeeping staff, helping foster a positive, professional, and team-oriented environment.
- Daily Operations: Coordinate daily housekeeping activities and ensure guest rooms, cabins, lodge areas, and public spaces are cleaned and maintained to established standards.
- Quality Control: Conduct regular room and area inspections, identify areas needing attention, and follow up with team members to ensure quality standards are consistently met.
- Scheduling & Coordination: Responsible for daily staffing and scheduling needs, including coordinating coverage for weekends, holidays, and varying occupancy levels.
- Training & Support: Train new housekeeping team members on cleaning procedures, property standards, safety practices, and proper use of supplies and equipment.
- Inventory Management: Monitor housekeeping supplies, linens, and equipment; place orders, meet with vendors, and maintain inventory levels.
- Guest Service: Respond to housekeeping-related guest requests and concerns promptly and professionally, escalating issues when appropriate.
- Safety & Sanitation: Ensure housekeeping team members follow established health, safety, sanitation, and chemical-handling procedures.
- Equipment & Maintenance: Report housekeeping equipment or facility issues and coordinate with maintenance as needed to ensure timely resolution.
- Cross-Department Collaboration: Work closely with Front Desk, Maintenance, and Restaurant teams to communicate housekeeping needs and support a seamless guest experience.
- Hands-On Support: Assist with housekeeping duties as needed, particularly during busy periods or when additional coverage is required.
Qualifications
- Previous housekeeping or hospitality experience required; prior leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
- Strong communication, organization, and team leadership skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to high cleanliness standards.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and coordinate daily housekeeping operations effectively.
- Professional and service-oriented approach to guest interactions.
- Experience with housekeeping supplies, equipment, and inventory management.
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, sanitation practices, and workplace safety standards.
- Ability to work independently while also supporting and motivating a team.
- Physical ability to perform housekeeping duties and assist with cleaning tasks as needed.
- Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and varied shifts as business needs require.
