The Procurement Director provides strategic and operational leadership for the end-to-end material flow supporting a LRU Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) operation. The role has accountability for Supply Chain, Material and Production Planning, and Warehouse functions, ensuring material availability, inventory accuracy, production readiness, supplier performance, and compliant receipt/storage/shipment.
The Director will establish scalable processes that convert customer demand and MRO WIP into executable production plans, Clear-to-Build work, on-time shipments, revenue, and improved turnaround time while maintaining compliance with FAA 14 CFR Part 145, AS9110 and applicable quality, export, customer, and contractual requirements.
To be considered for the Procurement Director opening, here’s what you’ll need to bring with you:
· Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Business, Engineering or a related field required; equivalent combination of education and directly relevant aerospace experience may be considered.
· MBA, advanced supply-chain degree, APICS/ASCM (CPIM/CSCP), CPSM or Lean/Six Sigma certification preferred.
· Working knowledge of FAA 14 CFR Part 145 and AS9110 requirements within an aviation maintenance environment strongly preferred.
· Knowledge of aerospace traceability, approved supplier controls, counterfeit-part prevention, export/trade compliance interfaces and material certification requirements preferred.
· 10+ years of progressive Supply Chain, Procurement, Planning, Materials or Operations experience, with significant leadership responsibility; aerospace/aviation MRO experience strongly preferred.
· Demonstrated experience leading multiple functions such as Purchasing, Planning, Materials, Warehouse, Inventory Control, Shipping and Receiving.
· Proven ability to manage high-mix/low-volume material demand, repair-order shortages, long-lead components, obsolete parts and supplier recovery in a time-critical environment.
· Experience building production/material plans from backlog, demand, capacity and shortage data and converting those plans into daily/weekly execution.
· Strong supplier negotiation, sourcing, contracting, escalation and performance-management experience.
· Experience with ERP/MRP systems; Syteline experience is highly desirable. Advanced Excel/data-analysis capability and comfort with operational dashboards required.
· Demonstrated success improving inventory accuracy, supplier delivery, material availability, turnaround time, working capital and on-time shipment performance.
· Executive-level communication skills with the ability to present risks, recovery plans, financial impacts and decisions clearly to senior leadership.
As a Procurement Director, you will:
· Lead the Supply Chain organization, including sourcing, procurement, supplier management, expediting, shortage recovery, supplier onboarding/vetting, purchase-order execution and supplier performance management.
· Own Material and Production Planning, translating backlog, customer priorities, shop capacity, material availability and contractual requirements into an executable production plan by license/product family, month and week.
· Lead Warehouse operations, including Receiving, Inventory Control, stockroom/Kardex activity, material issue/return, cycle counting, inventory accuracy, preservation, segregation and traceability.
· Build and maintain a disciplined Clear-to-Build process that identifies the full material requirement for each repair order and establishes a credible Full-Material CTB date for constrained units.
· Partner with Operations, Engineering, Quality, Customer Service, Finance and Trade Compliance to remove material and technical constraints that prevent repair completion, shipment, and revenue recognition.
· Own supplier recovery for long-lead, obsolete, no-market, and high-risk components; establish cross-functional recovery plans using approved alternate sources, internal transfers, repair development, customer/OEM escalation and other technically authorized solutions.
· Establish governance for supplier selection, qualification, onboarding and ongoing performance in coordination with Quality and Trade Compliance, ensuring required certifications, traceability, export-control documentation and approved-supplier status are maintained.
· Provide leadership visibility to material-driven revenue risk, purchasing commitments, inventory exposure, shortages, supplier recovery dates, production-plan attainment and warehouse constraints through Syteline/ERP and standardized operating dashboards.
· Drive continuous improvement through Value Stream Mapping, standard work, KPI management, and disciplined daily/weekly operating reviews; eliminate redundant manual processes and strengthen Syteline as the source of truth.
· Develop the Supply Chain, Planning and Warehouse leadership teams through clear accountability, succession planning, performance management, coaching and capability development.
Our Benefits:
