About The Role

We are seeking an experienced Financial Controller to oversee the company's financial reporting, accounting operations, internal controls, budgeting, and compliance activities for both Swissquote offices in Dubai, Swissquote MEA Ltd. and Swissquote Bank SA – Rep Office. The successful candidate will ensure accurate and timely financial information while supporting senior management with financial analysis and decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day accounting and finance operations.
  • Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes.
  • Prepare monthly management accounts, financial statements, and reporting packs.
  • Ensure compliance with IFRS, UAE tax requirements, and applicable accounting regulations.
  • Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, payroll accounting, and cash management.
  • Develop and maintain robust financial controls and accounting policies.
  • Coordinate annual audits and liaise with external auditors, tax advisers, and other professional advisers.
  • Monitor cash flow, working capital, and liquidity.
  • Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting process.
  • Analyse financial performance against budget and provide recommendations to management.
  • Ensure accurate and timely VAT and corporate tax compliance in coordination with tax advisers/internal tax teams.
  • Identify financial and operational risks and implement appropriate controls.
  • Manage and develop the finance team.
  • Improve accounting processes, systems, and reporting efficiency.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • Professional qualification such as ACCA, CPA, ACA, or CIMA preferred.
  • 5–10 years of relevant finance/accounting experience, preferably with UAE/GCC experience.
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS and financial reporting.
  • Experience with UAE VAT and corporate tax.
  • Strong Excel and ERP skills; experience with SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar systems is advantageous.
  • Strong analytical, leadership, and communication skills.
  • Previous experience managing a finance team is preferred.
