WHAT YOU'LL DO π―
The Consumer & Shopper Insights Manager is RYZE's voice of the consumer and shopper, translating custom research into clear direction for innovation, packaging, go-to-market strategy, and marketing investment. This role owns the end-to-end research process partnering closely with Marketing, R&D, and Category teams. It's a high-visibility, cross-functional role for someone who wants their insights shaping nearly every major consumer-facing decision at a fast-growing beverage brand. This is the first of four planned hires for a growing Category Management team, which expects to add two Category Managers and a Category Analyst over the course of 2027 as RYZE scales its retail footprint.
Responsibilities will include:
- Own the full lifecycle of custom qual/quant research (concept tests, U&A, packaging/claims testing, segmentation, conjoint/MaxDiff, shopper intercepts) from study design through vendor management to actionable recommendations.
- Select and manage the right methodology and vendor for each business question, balancing speed, cost, and rigor (e.g., online panel providers, qual moderators, shop-alongs, in-market tests).
- Build and maintain a rolling consumer/shopper learning agenda with brand, innovation, and category teams to prioritize research investment against the highest-impact decisions.
- Partner with R&D and Marketing to inform the innovation pipeline, testing concepts, flavors, formats, and claims at each stage-gate, and translating white space into actionable briefs.
- Provide fact-based recommendations on packaging design and structure using shopper research and testing tools where applicable.
- Deliver consumer and shopper insights that shape go-to-market strategy, positioning, and messaging for new and existing products.
- Partner with Marketing to inform marketing mix and spend decisions, evaluating campaign concepts, creative, and channel strategy through a consumer lens.
- Own or co-own brand health tracking with an external vendor and present findings and recommendations to senior leadership, adapting the story for technical and executive audiences.
PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree with 5-7+ years in marketing, market research, statistics, or related field.
- Background in CPG required, with food and beverage industry experience strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated experience leading custom qualitative and quantitative research end-to-end, including vendor management.
- Excellent storytelling and presentation skills β able to turn complex data into a clear, actionable narrative for both technical and executive audiences.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple studies and stakeholders simultaneously in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
- Hands-on proficiency with syndicated scan data tools (e.g., Nielsen, SPINS) and shopper data platforms (e.g., Numerator, 84.51Β°).
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint, with the ability to turn complex data into clear, compelling presentations and reports.
