Our Story
Hello there. We’re Zopa.

Our vision for a new era of banking puts people front and centre — we’ve built a business that empowers everyone to aim high, every day, to move finance forward. The Team
Automotive is one of the most exciting growth areas within Zopa’s lending business. We have ambitious plans to more than double originations over the next four to five years, with Product playing a central role in how we get there.
This is a broad, commercially focused product role spanning the full Automotive journey, from decisioning and pricing through to the experiences we create for customers, dealers and brokers. You’ll work at the intersection of Product, Sales, Credit Risk, Technology and Operations to tackle some of our biggest opportunities: making smarter lending decisions, building a proposition our partners want to work with, removing friction through technology and unlocking sustainable growth.
As a Senior Product Manager, you’ll have real ownership of what comes next. You’ll use commercial insight, partner and customer needs, and data to shape the product strategy and roadmap, balancing growth with margin, risk and great customer outcomes.
A day in the life
-
Own and shape the Automotive product roadmap, making thoughtful trade-offs across growth, margin, credit losses, customer outcomes and partner needs.
-
Work closely with Sales and Credit Risk to shape dealer strategy, rate cards, decisioning and the commercial choices that underpin sustainable growth.
-
Spend time with dealers, brokers and intermediaries, getting underneath their biggest pain points and turning those insights into better products and experiences.
-
Get hands-on with data to understand performance, investigate problems, test hypotheses and identify opportunities we should be pursuing.
-
Build compelling commercial cases for investment and change, clearly articulating the opportunity, economics and trade-offs to senior stakeholders.
-
Partner closely with Technology to take ideas from problem definition through to prioritisation, sequencing and delivery.
-
Reimagine operational journeys, using product and technology to reduce manual work, unnecessary cost, customer friction and complaints.
-
Keep a close eye on the market, spotting changes in customer behaviour, technology, regulation and the competitive landscape and translating them into opportunities for Zopa.
-
Bring together teams with different priorities and perspectives, creating enough clarity and momentum to turn ambitious ideas into tangible outcomes.
About you
-
You’ve owned meaningful commercial or business outcomes within a product, lending or regulated environment, and can explain the levers you used to influence them.
-
You’re comfortable making decisions that balance growth, profitability, cost, risk and customer outcomes, rather than optimising for one metric in isolation.
-
You’re naturally curious with data. You can get close to the numbers, carry out analysis yourself and use evidence to work out what is really happening.
-
You’ve taken meaningful technology change from idea through to delivery with cross-functional engineering teams.
-
You can prioritise confidently when there are more good opportunities than there is capacity to deliver them.
-
You’re comfortable operating with ambiguity and don’t need every problem to arrive neatly defined before you start tackling it.
-
You can influence senior stakeholders without relying on formal authority, and you’re willing to get into the detail when that’s what it takes to move something forward.
-
You communicate complex ideas simply and can build a compelling written business case for senior audiences.
-
You’ve spent time directly with customers, partners or users and can show how those conversations changed the decisions you made.
-
You understand what it means to build in a regulated environment and naturally bring Risk, Compliance and Legal into the conversation at the right time.
Added bonus:
-
Experience building B2B, B2B2C, marketplace or partner-led products.
-
Experience scaling a product or commercial proposition through a significant period of growth.
-
Working knowledge of SQL or another language that allows you to explore data independently.
-
Motor finance experience, particularly around dealer or broker distribution, vehicle valuations, HP or PCP.
-
Experience influencing risk-based pricing, rate cards, commissions or other commercial mechanics.
-
Experience working with third-party providers or strategic partners.
-
Experience coaching, developing or managing a more junior Product Manager.
-
Familiarity with Jira, Confluence and self-serve BI tools.
At Zopa we value flexible ways of working.
We value face-to-face collaboration and a good work-life balance. This hybrid role requires you to come to our London office 2-3 days a week.
You'll also have the option of working from abroad for up to 120 days a year!* But no matter where you are, we’ll make sure you’ve got everything you need to thrive, both in your work and home life, from day one.
*Subject to having the right to work in the country of choice
Diversity Statement
Zopa is proud to offer a workplace free from discrimination. Diversity of experience, perspectives, and backgrounds leads to better products for our customers and a unique company culture for our people. We are made up of nearly 50 nationalities, have a DE&I forum made up of Zopians wanting to make a difference and we are proud of our culture where everyone can bring their full self to work. Our approach to DE&I is reflected in our hiring process so please let us know if you require any reasonable adjustments.
Our approach to AI in interviews
At Zopa, AI isn't something we're testing out — it's part of how we work every day. As a proud partner of Jobs 2030, we're committed to building AI fluency across our workforce, and we expect Zopians to use AI as part of how they do their jobs.
Because of that, we want to be transparent about how we think about AI use during our hiring process.
Behavioural and competency-based interviews: please don't use AI. These conversations are designed to understand you — your experiences, your judgment, and how you've approached real situations. An AI-generated answer can't tell us that. What it can do is get in the way of us finding out whether we're the right fit for each other.
Technical interviews: it depends on the role. Some technical stages actively welcome AI use, others don't. Your Talent Partner will let you know what's expected at each stage. Where AI is part of the assessment, we'll be interested not just in the outcome, but in how you used it – the tools you chose, your reasoning, and the decisions you made along the way.
