About The Role

We are seeking an HR Generalist to join our team. The successful candidate will be a hands-on, data-driven HR partner who supports a small client group of their own, including both salaried and hourly employees, and serves as a responsive HR resource for our data center teams. They will work closely with the Director, Talent Acquisition and the Senior HR Business Partners on employee support, hiring, reporting and process improvement, using strong Excel, Workday and AI skills to turn data into insight and to make HR and talent acquisition processes faster, simpler and more consistent.

What You Will Do:

  • Client Group Support: Serve as the primary HR contact for an assigned client group of salaried and hourly employees, and as a visible, approachable HR resource for data center teams, answering questions on policies, pay practices, timekeeping, leave and benefits.
  • Employee Relations Support: Partner with the Senior HR Business Partners on employee relations matters, including intake, investigation support and documentation, corrective action, performance improvement plans and exit interview themes; coordinate leave, accommodation and workers’ compensation cases with Benefits and EHS.
  • Talent Acquisition Partnership: Support the Director, Talent Acquisition with requisition and offer tracking, interview logistics and candidate experience, and help manage third-party staffing vendors, including tracking contingent workers, reconciling invoices and monitoring vendor performance.
  • Process Improvement and AI Efficiency: Partner with the Director, Talent Acquisition to map, simplify and standardize HR and talent acquisition processes, using Microsoft Copilot to drive efficiencies such as drafting communications, summarizing data, building templates and automating repetitive tasks, while protecting employee data in line with CyrusOne information security and privacy standards.
  • Workday Expertise: Accurately process and audit Workday transactions (hires, job and compensation changes, transfers, terminations and organizational updates) and partner with Payroll and HRIS to resolve issues, including timekeeping, overtime and shift differentials for hourly employees.
  • Reporting and Analytics: Build and maintain Excel and Workday reports and dashboards on headcount, hiring pipeline, time-to-fill, turnover, overtime, staffing vendor spend and retention, translating data into clear insights and recommendations for HR, Talent Acquisition and business leaders.
  • Training Delivery: Coordinate and deliver training at data centers and headquarters, focused on compliance topics, manager effectiveness and team development, and track participation and completion.
  • HR Operations and Ad Hoc Projects: Own day-to-day HR operational processes and ad hoc requests that support the business, the Senior HR Business Partners and the Talent Acquisition function, including data audits, program tracking and follow-up, HR compliance audits and continuous improvement initiatives.

What We Are Looking For:
Required

  • 3-5 years of progressive HR generalist experience; experience supporting hourly, shift-based or field-based employees (e.g., data center, critical facilities, manufacturing, utilities, logistics or industrial environments) is a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Hands-on Workday HCM experience, including processing transactions and running and modifying reports
  • Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, conditional formulas, data cleansing and charting
  • Demonstrated, practical use of Microsoft Copilot to improve the speed and quality of work
  • Working knowledge of federal and multi-state employment laws, including FLSA wage and hour rules for non-exempt employees, FMLA and ADA
  • Strong judgment, discretion and confidentiality, with the ability to communicate clearly and credibly with employees, site leaders and senior management
  • Confident presenter and facilitator, comfortable leading compliance, manager and team training
  • Must be able to travel up to 15%

Preferred

  • PHR or SHRM-CP certification
  • Strong analytical skills, including working with large data sets, reconciling data across systems and presenting findings clearly to leaders
  • Advanced computer skills across Microsoft 365, including Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint and Teams
  • Experience with Workday advanced or composite reporting and Workday Recruiting
  • Experience with Power BI or other data visualization tools
  • Experience with process mapping or process improvement methods (e.g., Lean)
  • Experience managing staffing agencies or contingent workforce programs

Work Environment:

  • Work Schedule: Working hours are Monday to Friday, standard business hours, with occasional early morning, evening or weekend flexibility to reach employees on all shifts for training, site visits and urgent employee matters.
  • Physical Demands: This role is primarily office-based. When onsite at data centers, the employee must be able to walk the facility for extended periods, wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), work in areas with elevated noise and temperature variation and follow site safety and security protocols.

Minimum Requirements:

Superior human relations consultative and communication (both written and oral) skills required.

Demonstrated competencies in facilitation, problem solving, conflict resolution, and collaboration as well as demonstrated ability to utilize tact, professionalism, and empathy in interactions.

Experience in exercising judgment, discretion and diplomacy required. High degree of confidentiality is essential.

Effective presentation skills needed. Effective negotiation and persuasion skills required, as well as the ability to influence all levels of employees, including senior management.

Experience and Skills

Minimum of three years’ experience in a progressive Human Resources department.

In-depth knowledge of Human Resources; specialized knowledge in Total Rewards (Payroll & Benefits) and Staffing/Recruitment

Experience using benefits, payroll, timekeeping and HR systems

Proficient in use of Microsoft Office software including Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Word

Strong organizational and administrative skills required
