QUALIFICATIONS

Educational Requirements
Applicants must:

  • Be currently enrolled in a master’s or PhD program at the University of Waterloo
  • Have academic training in environmental studies or a closely related field

Applicants should submit:

  • A curriculum vitae (CV)
  • A brief statement of interest (maximum one page) describing relevant experience
  • An unofficial transcript

Experiential Qualifications
Preference will be given to applicants with demonstrated experience in:

  • Strong knowledge of water-energy-food (WEF) nexus systems, governance, urban sustainability, and/or adaptation and resilience planning
  • Experience using MAXQDA qualitative coding software
  • Experience analyzing sustainability plans, climate adaptation plans, resilience plans, or integrated resource management planning documents

Course Specific Requirements
Applicants must:

  • Have experience conducting qualitative research using secondary documents
  • Have experience developing and applying coding frameworks using content analysis
  • Demonstrate strong academic writing and literature synthesis skills
  • Possess excellent organizational and time management skills

Compensation:

  • $49.14 / hour, plus 4% vacation pay (GRA – Masters)
