<p><span style="font-size: 10pt;">The Highway Construction Superintendent supervises union employees installing guardrail, attenuators, sign structures, and related highway safety hardware throughout the Road Guard East service area. <strong>This is a non-union supervisory position responsible for managing union crews.</strong></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Based out of the Folsom, NJ yard, the Superintendent oversees daily crew operations, safety, quality, and production while coordinating with the General Superintendent, Project Manager, clients, and union representatives.</span></p>
<h2><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Essential Responsibilities</span></h2>
<ul>
<li style="font-size: 10pt;">
<p><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Lead and supervise union crews installing highway safety hardware in accordance with plans, specifications, and DOT requirements.</span></p>
</li>
<li style="font-size: 10pt;">
<p><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Plan and direct daily work, set production goals, and assign tasks to complete jobs safely, on time, and within budget.</span></p>
</li>
<li style="font-size: 10pt;">
<p><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Enforce safety requirements and conduct daily toolbox talks, job hazard analyses (JHAs), and site safety inspections.</span></p>
</li>
<li style="font-size: 10pt;">
<p><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Read and interpret construction plans, shop drawings, and traffic control plans to ensure field work meets contract requirements.</span></p>
</li>
<li style="font-size: 10pt;">
<p><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Coordinate site setup, traffic control, material staging, and equipment use; verify proper operation and maintenance of crew equipment.</span></p>
</li>
<li style="font-size: 10pt;">
<p><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Manage crew operations in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement, coordinate staffing with the local union hall, and address crew issues professionally.</span></p>
</li>
<li style="font-size: 10pt;">
<p><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Mentor, train, and develop crew members through clear direction and constructive feedback.</span></p>
</li>
<li style="font-size: 10pt;">
<p><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Serve as the on-site point of contact for project coordination.</span></p>
</li>
<li style="font-size: 10pt;">
<p><span style="font-size: 10pt;">Complete and submit accurate daily reports, timesheets, production logs, and equipment and material records.</span></p>
