<h1>Afterschool Teacher | Part-Time</h1>

<p>Towne Square Academy - Riverdale is looking for an energetic, dependable, and engaging <strong>Afterschool Teacher</strong> to work with our school-age children, ages <strong>7 to 13</strong>.</p>
<p>This is a great opportunity for an experienced childcare professional who enjoys working with older children and knows how to create an environment that is structured, positive, fun, and age-appropriate.</p>
<p>Our school-age students need more than supervision after school. They need an educator who can build relationships, keep them engaged, establish expectations, and create a space where they can unwind, connect, learn, and enjoy the rest of their day.</p>
<h2>What You'll Do</h2>
<p>As an Afterschool Teacher, you will:</p>
<ul>
<li>Supervise and engage children ages 7 to 13 during the afterschool program</li>
<li>Create a safe, structured, positive, and welcoming environment</li>
<li>Plan and lead age-appropriate games, activities, projects, and enrichment experiences</li>
<li>Support homework, reading, and other academic activities as appropriate</li>
<li>Build positive relationships with students while maintaining clear expectations and boundaries</li>
<li>Encourage teamwork, independence, responsibility, and positive peer relationships</li>
<li>Use positive guidance and age-appropriate behavior management strategies</li>
<li>Maintain active supervision and prioritize children's safety</li>
<li>Support afternoon snacks, transitions, and daily routines</li>
<li>Maintain a clean and organized program space</li>
<li>Communicate professionally with families, coworkers, and school leadership</li>
<li>Follow all school, health, safety, and applicable childcare requirements</li>
<li>Work collaboratively with the school team to create a positive experience for children and families</li>
</ul>
<h2>What We're Looking For</h2>
<p>We're looking for someone who can connect with school-age children while providing the consistency and structure they need.</p>
<h3>Required Qualifications</h3>
<ul>
<li><strong>Must be at least 18 years old</strong></li>
<li><strong>High school diploma or GED</strong></li>
<li><strong>At least 2 years of childcare experience</strong></li>
<li>Experience working in a licensed childcare environment preferred</li>
<li>Ability to work <strong>Monday through Friday, approximately 2:30 PM to 6:30 PM</strong></li>
<li>Ability to successfully complete required employment and background screening requirements</li>
<li>Dependable attendance and reliable transportation</li>
<li>Strong communication and relationship-building skills</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>No degree or additional certification is required for this position.</strong></p>
