Experience Design transforms complex financial workflows into intuitive solutions that drive measurable business outcomes. We bridge sophisticated investment technology with the people who depend on it — portfolio managers, compliance officers, and analysts operating in high-stakes environments where precision and speed matter.
Our Global Experience Design team operates as a centralized center of excellence with distributed impact. We maintain unified standards and processes globally while embedding designers directly within product teams for deep collaboration and contextual expertise. This lets us stay consistent across SimCorp's product ecosystem while scaling expertise efficiently across markets and time zones.
As Principal Experience Designer, you will serve as the senior design authority for our most complex, strategic initiatives, influence design direction across multiple teams, and mentor senior designers.
At SimCorp, we support some of the largest financial institutions in the world to be successful by simplifying their investments, accounting and operations.
WHAT YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR

  • Lead design for SimCorp's most complex and strategic initiatives, contributing to the overall strategic vision and design craft excellence.
  • Establish design patterns and standards adopted across the organization, and influence design system evolution and adoption.
  • Drive innovation in financial technology user experience, influencing multiple products across the organization.
  • Partner with senior product leadership on roadmap planning, and represent the design perspective in architectural and technical decisions.
  • Act as a thought leader and subject matter expert in UX.
  • Work closely with engineering leadership on technical feasibility, and collaborate with user research on strategic research initiatives.
  • Partner with customer success to integrate user feedback, and present design vision to executive stakeholders.
  • Work independently and cross-functionally with senior leadership.
  • Mentor Lead and Senior Experience Designers, and contribute to hiring decisions for senior design roles.

WHAT WE VALUE

  • 8+ years of design experience, with deep expertise in enterprise software.
  • Proven track record leading complex, multi-team design initiatives.
  • Strong systems thinking and design pattern recognition.
  • Ability to navigate between high-level strategy and detailed execution.
  • Skill in translating complex financial concepts into clear, actionable interfaces.
  • Experience getting the most from AI tools in crafting creative solutions.
  • Experience mentoring senior designers and design leaders.
  • Ability to facilitate cross-functional collaboration and drive stakeholder consensus.
  • Self-directed and results-oriented, taking ownership of projects while contributing to our collective design practice.
  • Experience with the fintech domain is a plus.

For New York City only: The salary range for this position is $160,000 - $241,000 USD. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including health care, leave, and retirement plans. Your total compensation may vary based on role, location, department and individual performance.
