About The Role

Under general supervision from the Manager EMT Services, the Supervisor, EMT Services, oversees the day-to-day operations of the Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) staff, responds to emergency and non-emergency calls in and around the Yaamava’ Resort & Casino (YRC) and delivers high quality patient care and customer service within the prescribed scope of practice, established protocols, and tribal policies.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. LeadsEMT team operations, including coordination and maintenance of EMT scheduling.Assistsin the coordination of maintenance and care of EMS treatment rooms and equipment.Managesprogramwhere EMT staff inspect, audit, restock, andmaintainfacility defibrillators and first aid kits.
  2. Conductsthorough investigations by analyzing and verifying information using various techniques and interviews.Preparedetailed written reports following departmental guidelines andprovideverbal updates asrequired.Submitsconfidential patient care reports and documentation. Submit patient assessments, and risk management reports, including investigating complaints and procedural or process concerns, anddirectthe resolution of emergency medical performance issues.
  3. Responds to emergency calls, begins investigations based on observations, and secures any physical evidence. Follow up with in-depth investigations and reports.
  4. Administers emergency medical care to treat patients; performs Basic Life Support (BLS);assistsparamedics with Advance Life Support (ALS) protocols and provides courteous and prompt customer service to the public,employeesand Tribal Citizens.Interviews withpatients and witnesses as needed.
  5. Buildrelationships with internal customers, vendors, and law enforcement agencies andprovidespolicy and procedure guidance on emergency medical care. Trains staff and community members in CPR and First Aid.
  6. Supports leadership with EMS guidance, offering input on equipment needs, budgeting, and EMS issues specific to the Casino environment.
  7. Performs other duties as assigned to support theefficientoperation of the department.

SUPERVISORYRESPONSIBILITIES
Carries out supervisory responsibilitiesin accordance withthe organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing,hiringand training employees; planning, assigning reviewing and directing work; evaluating and appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaintsandresolvingproblems.Makeshiringdecisionsanddesignsindividualdevelopmentplanswith succession planning in mind for all key roles.
EDUCATION,EXPERIENCEANDQUALIFICATIONS

Associatesof Arts in EMS, Fire Science or related fieldrequired.

Minimum three (3) years of experience in the field of Emergency Medical Service patient care required.

Related,relevant,and/ordirectexperiencemaybeconsideredinlieuofminimumeducational requirementsindicatedabove.
KNOWLEDGE,SKILLSANDABILITIES(KSA)

Principles and practices of emergency medical care.

Operation and maintenance of emergency medical equipment.

Safety practices and precautionspertaining towork.

Basic knowledge of computers and programsto includeMS Office,PowerPointand Outlook.

Read, understand, and draft departmental policies, rules, regulations, instructions, and literatureas itpertains to emergency medical care.

Communicates clearly and concisely in English, both orally and in writing, with proper spelling,grammarand punctuation.

Ability tooperatea two-way radio to communicate with the communications center.

Analyze situations and adopt a quick,effectiveand responsible course of action.

Make presentations to a variety of groups.

Work effectively with other employees and the public.

Understand and carry out oral and written instructions and explain them to others.

Maintain confidential information.

Mustdemonstrateproficiencyin producing well-written documents, including correct spelling, grammar, punctuation, organization, and content. This will be assessed through a written assignment or test during the hiring process.

Mustsuccessfully complete required in-service training, which includes, but is not limited to, courses in report writing.

Mustsuccessfully complete a New Employee Orientation training anddemonstrateproficiencyin conducting field interviews andwritingpreliminary investigative reports.
LICENSES,CERTIFICATIONSANDREGISTRATIONS

At the discretion of the San Manuel Tribal Gaming Commission, you maybe requiredto obtain andmaintaina gaming license.

​​Authorized Driver: Role requires operation or driving of Tribe-owned vehicles or driving patron vehicles. A valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record as determined by the insurance carrier is required.​
Required:

EMT-I (Must be valid in State of California)orEMT-P.

Current AHA CPR Healthcare Provider or equivalent.

ICS 100-Introduction to ICS.
-
ICS 200-Basic ICS.
-
IS700 NIMS: An Introduction.
-
IS 800The NationalResponse Plan.
-
Hazardous Materials First Responder Awareness (CSTI or equivalent).
-
Accredited First Aid Instructor (within 1 year of employment).
-
Current American Heart Association CPR Instructor (within 1 year of employment).
Preferred:
-
Experience working as an EMT at Special Events.
-
Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) Designated Infection Control Officer Training.

Visual acuity that meets the requirements of the position: The workeris required tohave close visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; expansive reading and visual inspection of employees,visitorsor facility.
