Make an Impact as a Senior / Director, Project Management at Worldwide
Lead the successful delivery of complex, global clinical research programs that help bring new therapies to patients. In this role, you'll provide strategic leadership across multiple projects, guide high-performing project management teams, and drive operational excellence in a dynamic, matrixed environment.
You'll play a critical role in partnering with sponsors, cross-functional teams, and external stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Your expertise will help shape project strategy, optimize processes, and strengthen client relationships across multinational clinical development programs.
As a people leader, you'll mentor and develop project management professionals, champion continuous improvement initiatives, and contribute to the growth and success of both project teams and the broader organization.
Where You'll Work
This is a remote role open to candidates based in Europe. You will collaborate with global teams across multiple time zones. Occasional business travel is required, including domestic and international travel as needed.

What You'll Do

  • Lead and oversee multiple global clinical research projects and programs, ensuring delivery against timeline, budget, quality, and client expectations.
  • Direct, mentor, and develop Project Managers and Senior Project Managers, supporting performance, growth, and team effectiveness.
  • Build and lead cross-functional project teams, fostering collaboration across internal stakeholders, clients, vendors, and subcontractors.
  • Define resource requirements, manage project staffing strategies, and implement contingency plans to support successful delivery.
  • Partner with sponsors to align on project scope, priorities, performance expectations, and strategic objectives.
  • Monitor financial performance across assigned projects, driving accountability for budgets, forecasting, and resource utilization.
  • Communicate project status, risks, and strategic updates to senior leadership while facilitating effective decision-making.
  • Drive process improvement and change initiatives that enhance operational efficiency, project quality, and team performance.
  • Support business development activities through client presentations, proposal development, and collaboration with commercial teams.

What You'll Bring

  • University or college degree, preferably in Life Sciences, or certification in an allied health profession, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of clinical pharmaceutical industry experience including demonstrated skills and competency in clinical project management.
  • Candidates with more than five (5) years of supervisory experience in a healthcare setting and eight (8) years of clinical research experience within the pharmaceutical or CRO industry will also be considered.
  • Experience managing Rheumatology studies is required for this role.
  • Demonstrated experience leading, developing, and coaching project management professionals within a project-driven environment.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience managing budgets, forecasting, resources, and overall business performance.
  • Expert knowledge of project management principles, process improvement, clinical development, and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence across matrix organizations.
  • Proficiency in English, both written and verbal; fluency in the local office language where applicable.
