Engineering owns what gets built and why; you bring the customer and commercial judgement they need to make those decisions well, and you are accountable for ensuring the product meets the bar before it reaches customers. Day to day, your closest working relationships are with the CTO and Director of Engineering: you keep them unblocked, informed and well-connected to the commercial and customer context they need. You are the product’s spokesperson externally to customers, to sales and new business, and to customer success and you facilitate a direct, unfiltered relationship between engineering and the wider business.
