About The Role
The Acute Care Program is recruiting a full-time, permanent Clinical Manager for the Medical Withdrawal Services (MWS). Reporting to the Clinical Director, and working closely with Medical and Practice Leaders, you will provide leadership for dynamic, interprofessional teams. This is an exciting opportunity to support the ongoing development of new knowledge and best practices for those with complex withdrawal management challenges and concurrent disorders, and to further support CAMH’s goal of providing excellence in Addictions care.
In this capacity you will lead and coordinate the team in all aspects of human resource leadership, including recruitment, orientation and scheduling. You will also participate in service planning, development, implementation, and evaluation. In collaboration with Medical and Professional Practice Leaders, you will be responsible for the identification and development of educational requirements for staff, providing supervision to members of the clinical team, and for the implementation of evidence-based practices and Quality Improvement initiatives. You will be required to support budget planning and monitoring, facilitate the implementation of the CAMH Strategic Plan, and participate in planning and project work. You will work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders and you will ensure the inpatient services are in alignment with program and organizational objectives, vision, mission and values. Developing and maintaining existing partnerships with community providers, specifically the addiction service providers and networks, will be required. You may also be called upon to participate in and represent Management in negotiations with Bargaining Agents. You will support a psychologically healthy and safe environment. The position is located at CAMH’s Queen Street Site, 40-50 White Squirrel Way.
A bachelor's degree in nursing, psychology, social work, healthcare administration, or a related field is required (a Master’s Degree is preferred), and at least 5 years of progressive supervisory experience in a unionized environment. Experience managing an inpatient unit is preferred. Specialized knowledge of the treatment of addictions and concurrent disorders, and familiarity with medication assisted withdrawal management would be an asset. You will also possess strong negotiation skills, combined with an awareness of professional roles and functions of diverse disciplines within integrated clinical teams, and can effectively liaise with external programs and agencies. You possess a track record of: managing an interdisciplinary team; client-centered care; treatment of those with complex mental illness; and development of linkages/partnerships. Ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds and communities is essential. You have good computer skills and have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint). In addition, you possess excellent organizational, communication, negotiation, leadership, and interpersonal skills and have the ability to work effectively within a dynamic team environment. Bilingualism (English/French) or proficiency in a second language is considered an asset.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Salary is competitive and based on experience, with a hiring range of $112,495.94 – $140,619.93 per year.
- Employees in this role may progress within the full pay range of $112,495.94 – $168,743.91 per year
