About The Role

The Senior Human Resources Advisor will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and supporting HR strategies, by developing programs to support the workforce. The incumbent will assist with companywide Personnel Policies and Procedures to ensure compliance, throughout the agency. Improving data quality and data reporting through the establishment of KPI's and other metrics, aimed to accurately measure utilization and compliance. This position will also develop required training material and provide ongoing training support to employees on a wide array of HR related topics and policy governance. To focus on improving policy understanding and adherence to required standards and goals. You will collaborate closely with stakeholders inside and outside the division to support people management and growth. Providing guidance on HR matters and driving initiatives to enhance the employee experience. Research will also be a key function for this role gathering, collating, and communicating HR best practice held inside and outside local industry. This role will report directly to the Senior Vice President, Human Resources and Culture.

  • Work collaboratively with the Human Resources and Culture teams to review and document current processes and procedures.
  • Develop Standard operating procedures, for key process areas.
  • Perform extensive research with outside agencies (i.e., SHRM, OPM and others) to obtain and deliver Human resources best practice to Events DC.
  • Work to outline, document, and deliver a first class Leave Management program to support employee wellness.
  • Coordinate with senior HR staff to understand business needs, providing timely and high-quality support.
  • Offer experience and guidance to leaders and managers on Human Resources matters delegated by the SVP of Human Resources and Culture.
  • Assist with developing content for training and course/presentation.
  • Collaborate with HR leaders on ongoing strategic priorities.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on assigned HR initiatives and change management projects for HR.
  • 5-7 years in a senior role with extensive Human Resources experience.
  • 2-3 years of program management experience.
  • Experience in managing core HR functions to include talent acquisition, benefits, employee relations, policy, and information systems.
  • Good understanding of DC and federal employment laws and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and analytical thinking.
  • Passion for HR and its impact on business performance.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Excellent Presentation/ facilitation skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to manage time effectively.
  • Empathetic and intelligent approach to complex issues.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Experience developing and applying HR practices, policies, and procedures.
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, public administration, or business administration.
  • Any equivalent combination of experience, training and/ or education.
