We’re currently hiring full-time Host Lead and part-time Hosts to join our team. Ideal candidates are polished, personable, and comfortable in a fast-paced fine-dining environment. LEAD HOST POSITION SUMMARY:
The Lead Host is responsible for supporting the store managers and front-of-house service team by making smart preparation for the service at hand, coordinating logistical details, and welcoming and warmly greet guests on arrival. The lead host also assists management with front-of-house training objectives, ensuring excellent guest service, and upholding safe and sanitary work practices.
LEAD HOST RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Know restaurant standards, table numbers, wait sections, menu, specials, and be able to answer any question customers may have effectively.
- Assist store managers in achieving restaurant operational objectives by ensuring the quality of service, food, beverage, and ambiance/aesthetics.
- Answer phone professionally and according to restaurant standards.
- Take and confirm reservations and enter in OpenTable according to restaurant standards. Prompt customer for additional information and email whenever possible.
- Assign server sections and reservations while balancing guest flow in service sections.
- Ensure the quality and accuracy of to-go orders by double-checking what is written on the to-go order form against the contents of the order.
- Assist with selecting, procuring, arranging, and maintaining/watering table and restaurant flora and foliage.
- Participate as needed in other special projects as delegated by store management.
- Be available to fill in as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the restaurant as directed by the restaurant manager or immediate supervisor.
LEAD HOST QUALIFICATIONS:
This position is well suited for a hands-on individual with no less than 2 years of practical front-of-house experience and a proven track record of providing outstanding hospitality and service.
- Availability to work a flexible schedule, 30 hours minimum per week, including nights and weekends.
- Constitution to stand on feet for long periods of time (up to 6 hours).
- Must possess High School diploma or equivalent.
- Excellent organizational and prioritization skills.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in the predominant language(s) of our guests.
HOST POSITION SUMMARY:
Welcome and warmly greet guests upon arrival. Manage the efficient and timely seating of our guests to a table that best serves their wishes while keeping a smooth and orderly flow in the restaurant.
HOST DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Warmly and graciously greet all guests upon arrival.
- Know restaurant standards, table numbers, wait sections, menu, specials, and be able to answer any question customers may have effectively.
- Take reservations and enter on OpenTable according to restaurant standards. Prompt customer for additional information and email whenever possible.
- Accommodate special seating requests for guests whenever possible.
- Relay messages to servers, bus, and manager as needed, especially guest notes from OpenTable.
- Help with bussing and drink service if time warrants.
- Thank guests as they leave and invite them to return.
- Be available to fill in as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the restaurant as directed by the restaurant manager or immediate supervisor.
HOST QUALIFICATIONS:
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 6 hours).
- Be able to communicate clearly and effectively in the predominant language(s) of our guests.
- Ability to work in high pressure situations.
- Must be 21 or older due to responsibilities that include working in areas where alcohol is served
