About The Role
SUMMARY
Ajax Building Company, part of STO Building Group, is seeking a Traveling OFCI Manager for mission critical construction projects. This role coordinates owner-furnished, contractor-installed data center equipment from procurement tracking through delivery, installation, commissioning, and turnover.
The OFCI Manager works closely with owners, vendors, trade partners, and project teams to keep critical equipment aligned with the construction schedule and ready for installation and commissioning.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Track OFCI equipment through manufacturing, factory testing, shipping, delivery, installation, and turnover.
- Coordinate equipment specifications, delivery dates, and schedule commitments with owners, vendors, and project teams.
- Identify equipment delays and communicate impacts to construction and commissioning milestones.
- Plan delivery and site logistics, including access, rigging, storage, and equipment protection.
- Confirm site readiness for delivery and installation; document and resolve shortages, damage, or discrepancies.
- Coordinate installation requirements, field questions, submittals, RFIs, and equipment-related changes with vendors and trade partners.
- Work with vendors, trade partners, and commissioning teams to ensure equipment is installed, documented, and ready for testing and commissioning.
- Track outstanding items and turnover documentation through closeout.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred, or equivalent experience.
- Experience managing major equipment packages on data center construction projects.
- Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical equipment, installation requirements, and commissioning sequences.
- Experience coordinating vendors, deliveries, site logistics, and installing subcontractors.
- Ability to read construction drawings, specifications, submittals, and project schedules.
- Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to identify schedule risks and resolve coordination issues.
- Willingness to travel extensively, including extended stays near project sites.
- Experience with Procore, Primavera P6, MS Project, or similar tools preferred.
