Our Growth is Creating Great Opportunities!
Our Optical Transport Infrastructure team in Gdynia is expanding, and we are looking for a hardware-minded student who wants to learn and grow in the area of Hardware Engineering.
Position: Student (Hardware Engineering) – Optical Transport
You will work side by side with our experienced Hardware Engineer on the design, development and support of hardware controller modules for our telecom systems. This is a learning role: you start with well-defined tasks under close mentorship, take on more responsibility as you grow, and build up your Hardware Engineering expertise.

What You Will Do

  • Hardware design support: Help the Hardware Engineer with schematic capture, design reviews, and preparing PCB layout guidance for controller modules.
  • Lab work and bring-up: Take part in board bring-up and debugging using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, multimeters and power supplies.
  • Testing: Help write and run hardware and integration test cases, record results, and report issues you find.
  • Component research: Look up datasheets, compare alternative components, and check availability and lifecycle status as input to component selection.
  • Documentation: Contribute to Hardware Design Specifications, test reports, and production test documentation.
  • Production support: Learn how PCB assemblies are released to production and help the Operations team with production test procedures.
  • Teamwork: Join team meetings and see how Hardware works with Systems Engineering, FPGA, Mechanics, Software and Operations across our global sites.

What We Expect

  • Education: 3rd-year student of Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, Automation and Robotics, or a related field.
  • Availability: At least 20 hours per week in our Gdynia office (lab work happens on site).
  • Electronics fundamentals: Good understanding of analog and digital circuits: passive components, transistors, power supplies, logic, and common buses (I2C, SPI, UART).
  • Microcontroller / processor basics: Basic knowledge of how a microcontroller or microprocessor system works, including its memory (RAM, Flash) and peripheral interfaces.
  • Schematic and PCB tools: Hands-on experience from coursework or projects with an EDA tool (e.g., KiCad, Altium, OrCAD or Eagle). You can read and draw a schematic.
  • Lab skills: Comfortable using basic lab equipment and soldering.
  • Problem-solving: Curious and methodical when debugging; you dig into why something doesn't work.
  • English: Good enough to read datasheets and talk with colleagues in English (B2 or higher).
  • Teamwork: Willing to learn, ask questions, and accept feedback in a team.

Nice to Have

  • Your own hardware projects: A board you designed and built, a student science club (koło naukowe), or a contest team. Bring photos or a GitHub link.
  • Embedded programming: Some C/C++ on a microcontroller (STM32, AVR, ESP32, Raspberry Pi Pico or similar).
  • Programmable logic: Basic VHDL or Verilog, or a course on FPGAs/CPLDs.
  • High-speed or power design: Some knowledge of signal integrity, DDR memory, or DC/DC converter design.
  • Standards awareness: Interest in how telecom standards (NEBS, ETSI) and EMC rules affect hardware and mechanical design.
  • Scripting: Python for test automation or data analysis.

What We Offer

  • Long-term paid internship - 6,000 PLN per month for a full-time position
  • Mentoring: A dedicated mentor, our experienced Hardware Engineer, and a learning plan built around real product work.
  • Hours that fit your studies: Flexible working hours planned around your class schedule and exam sessions.
  • Real lab experience: Work with professional lab equipment on telecom hardware that ships to customers.
  • Learning: English lessons during working hours and access to our internal training program.
  • Multisport Card and access to sports activities and events.
  • Friendly culture: A team-oriented, friendly work culture.
  • Great office: A modern office in Gdynia (gym and playroom) close to the SKM/PKM stations.Provide if it will be used in an open position
