The Analytics Coordinator supports projects within HSAG’s Data Science & Advanced Analytics division. This position is an excellent opportunity for an early-career professional who wants to develop practical experience coordinating healthcare analytics projects, supporting client and project teams, preparing project documentation, and contributing to work that improves healthcare quality.
Description
The Analytics Coordinator is an important member of a multidisciplinary team conducting healthcare analytics and quality improvement projects. Working under the direction of analytics and project management staff, this position helps coordinate projects throughout their life cycles, including project initiation, implementation, ongoing operations, analysis, reporting, and closeout.
Key activities include developing and maintaining work plans and project schedules; tracking tasks, milestones, risks, and deliverables; organizing project documentation; supporting client communications and meetings; conducting research on healthcare-related topics; assisting with written and data-oriented reports; and providing regular project updates to Data Science & Advanced Analytics leadership.
The position collaborates with analysts, researchers, project managers, clinicians, technical staff, subcontractors, clients, and other project partners. Specific assignments will depend on organizational and project needs and will be discussed with candidates during the interview process.
Essential Competencies, Duties and Responsibilities
The Analytics Coordinator is expected to perform the following responsibilities with appropriate guidance and oversight:
Project Coordination
- Support the planning, implementation, monitoring, and completion of healthcare analytics projects.
- Develop and maintain project work plans, task schedules, timelines, milestone trackers, and other project management tools.
- Monitor assigned activities and follow up with team members to help ensure that tasks and deliverables are completed accurately and on schedule.
- Coordinate routine project activities across multiple teams, workstreams, and external partners.
- Identify potential scheduling, documentation, or workflow issues and promptly communicate them to the appropriate project or management staff.
- Maintain organized, accurate, and current project records.
- Follow established project procedures, quality standards, and internal control requirements.
- Identify opportunities to improve project coordination, documentation, communication, and workflow processes.
- Present identified issues and practical recommendations to project or management staff.
- Assist with implementing corrective actions and monitoring their completion.
- Apply careful proofreading and attention to detail to project documents, reports, correspondence, and deliverables.
Communication and Collaboration
- Serve as a professional liaison among management, project staff, clients, subcontractors, partner organizations, and other internal and external stakeholders.
- Communicate project decisions, expectations, deadlines, and status information clearly and accurately.
- Support project communications through email, telephone calls, virtual meetings, written correspondence, and other approved communication methods.
- Schedule and support client and project meetings, including preparing agendas and materials, documenting decisions, recording action items, and monitoring follow-up activities.
- Build effective working relationships by demonstrating professionalism, responsiveness, reliability, and respect.
- Provide coordination or training support when assigned.
Deliverables and Documentation
- Assist with preparing, reviewing, formatting, validating, and submitting project deliverables, reports, presentations, correspondences, and supporting documentation.
- Help ensure that project documents are accurate, complete, professionally presented, and consistent with contract and organizational requirements.
- Maintain project files on approved SharePoint sites and corporate or federal networks in accordance with applicable naming conventions, document management practices, security requirements, and governance standards.
- Organize, label, tag, classify, and archive project documents so that authorized team members can locate and use them efficiently.
- Support deliverable submission through approved methods, including electronic submission systems, direct data entry, hard-copy submission, or other specified mechanisms.
- Assist with maintaining documentation that supports project decisions, work completed, and compliance with established requirements.
Research and Analytics Support
- Conduct focused internet and literature research on healthcare, clinical, policy, quality improvement, and analytic topics.
- Identify credible information sources and summarize relevant findings for project teams.
- Assist with preparing written and data-oriented reports using Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Support basic data compilation, organization, review, and presentation activities under the guidance of analytics staff.
- Review information for completeness, consistency, and potential errors and communicate identified issues to the appropriate team member.
- Participate in healthcare-related educational programs and training activities as required. Assist with preparing, reviewing, formatting, validating, and submitting project deliverables, reports, presentations, correspondences, and supporting documentation.

Education and/or Experience
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in business, healthcare administration, public health, science, social science, data analytics, project management, or another related field.
- Demonstrated experience organizing assignments, coordinating activities, conducting research, preparing professional documents, or supporting team-based projects. Relevant experience may be gained through employment, internships, academic projects, volunteer service, or comparable activities.
- Ability to learn healthcare, quality improvement, project management, and analytics concepts.
Preferred
- Up to two years of relevant professional, internship, research, administrative, healthcare, or project coordination experience.
- Master’s degree or graduate-level coursework in a related discipline.
- Exposure to healthcare delivery, healthcare quality improvement, data analytics, research, government contracting, or client-service environments.
- Experience supporting projects with defined schedules, milestones, quality requirements, or deliverables.

- Ability to learn and use SharePoint, virtual meeting platforms, document management systems, and project-specific technologies.
- Ability to conduct focused internet and literature research and summarize findings clearly.
- Ability to follow documented procedures and comply with quality, privacy, security, confidentiality, and governance requirements.
- Ability to identify problems, ask appropriate questions, and escalate issues when necessary.
- Ability to receive feedback constructively and apply it to future work.
- Ability to adapt to changing assignments, priorities, and project requirements.
