About The Role

Classification: Exempt
FTE: 1.0
Work Schedule: Year-round. Monday-Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm; frequent evening and occasional weekend hours required; on-call for emergencies outside of regular working hours.
Work Location: On Campus – this position requires you to live in an apartment provided by the college. The apartment is partially furnished.
Salary Range: $43,624 - $48,941
Essential Job Duties:

Supervision and Training Responsibilities:

  • Recruit, select, train and directly supervise student staff. Supervision includes expectation setting, leadership development, performance evaluation, improvement plans, performance documentation, and discipline.
  • Oversee the hiring process for student staff, including recruitment, interview coordination, selection, onboarding, and related employment processes.
  • Utilize the programmatic/engagement model through programming, events, and social connections.

Management/Operations Responsibilities:

  • Create a working relationship and establish a routine meeting structure with the facilities team (i.e., maintenance and custodial services).
  • Manage residential area budget for programmatic and developmental initiatives.
  • Handle invoices and financial processing through Oracle and related departmental systems.
  • Coordinate processes, including but not limited to: room inventories, room changes, health and safety inspections, work orders, damage billing, and opening and closing of the residence halls.

Data Assessment:

  • Gather quantitative and qualitative data on occupancy rates, student preferences, accommodation demand, and other relevant metrics.
  • Analyze data to identify trends, forecast future housing needs, and conduct additional research to validate findings and make informed recommendations.
  • Produce clear graphics, reports, and polished slide presentations to communicate data insights and recommendations.
  • Support data-informed planning, assessment, and operational decision-making within the department.

Communications, Outreach, and Web Management:

  • Support marketing, communications, and public outreach for Residence Life.
  • Manage and update department WordPress webpages, ensuring content is accurate, accessible, and aligned with departmental branding and communications schedules.

Student Care, Wellbeing, and Community Standards:

  • Establish and maintain contact with students and address student needs and concerns.
  • Serve in an all-campus on-call rotation.
  • Document concerns and incidents using protocols, standards, and procedures required by the college.

College Contributions:

  • Be front facing within the residence halls and at campus events.
  • Serve on task forces and initiatives to support a diverse and creative residential experience.
  • Be present and interactive with recruitment and retention events.
  • Respect and support diverse backgrounds, values, and points of view to build a responsible college community.
  • Complete and meet deadlines for required training and performance management cycle.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Supervision Received and Exercised:

  • Reports to the Associate Dean of Students for Residence Life.
  • This position supervises students.

Required Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree
  • Experience: 1+ year of programming experience and/or data analysis.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Education: Master’s degree in student personnel or related field.
  • Experience: 1+ year of professional/graduate live-in experience.
  • Licensing: Possession of a valid driver’s license.
