Job summary:
NCR Voyix is looking for a Software Development Engineer to support the development and testing of software components under close supervision, learning engineering standards and tools. Contributes to coding, debugging, and documentation tasks as part of a collaborative development team.
What we are looking for:
A Continuous Builds and Packaging Engineer are responsible for maintaining build automation, software packaging, release processes, and CI/CD pipelines to ensure reliable and repeatable software delivery.

Roles and Responsibilities

1. Build Automation

• Design, develop, and maintain automated build systems.
• Create and optimize build scripts using tools such as Install builder, Setup Factory, InstallShield, Ant, Make
• Ensure successful compilation and integration of code from multiple development teams.
• Troubleshoot and resolve build failures and dependency issues.

2. Continuous Integration (CI)

• Configure and manage CI pipelines using Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions
• Monitor build health and proactively identify integration issues.
• Implement automated validation checks for code quality and compliance.
• Improve build performance and reduce build execution times.

3. Software Packaging

• Create installation packages, deployment bundles, containers, and release artifacts.
• Manage packaging technologies such as Install builder, Setup Factory, InstallShield.
• Standardize packaging processes across products and environments.
• Ensure packages are versioned, signed, and distributed correctly.

4. Release Engineering

• Coordinate software releases across development, QA, and operations teams.
• Manage release branches, tagging, and version control strategies.
• Support release deployment activities and rollback procedures.
• Maintain release documentation and deployment instructions.

5. Configuration and Dependency Management

• Manage source code repositories using GitHub
• Ensure consistent build configurations across environments.
• Track and resolve dependency conflicts and security vulnerabilities.

6. CI/CD Pipeline Management

• Design and implement end-to-end CI/CD workflows.
• Automate testing, packaging, and deployment stages.
• Integrate security, compliance, and quality gates into pipelines.

7. Infrastructure and Environment Support

• Maintain build servers, agents, and build infrastructure.
• Manage containerized build environments using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Ensure build environment scalability, reliability, and security.

8. Monitoring and Troubleshooting

• Monitor build and deployment metrics.
• Analyze logs and diagnose pipeline failures.
• Perform root cause analysis for build-related incidents.
• Implement preventive measures to improve system reliability.

9. Security and Compliance

• Implement secure build and packaging practices.
• Manage artifact signing and certificate handling.
• Ensure compliance with organizational and regulatory requirements.
• Integrate vulnerability scanning and software composition analysis tools.

10. Collaboration and Support

• Work closely with Software Engineers, QA Engineers, DevOps Engineers, and Release Managers.
• Provide technical support for building and packaging issues.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation and standards.
• Train development teams on CI/CD and build best practices.
