About The Role
Viewforth Early Years Centre is a large, busy, and vibrant setting operating under the City of Edinburgh Council. We provide high-quality early learning and childcare across various patterns of attendance between 8:00 AM and 6:00 PM, 52 weeks per year.
We work in close partnership with our families to promote children’s learning and development, actively helping to close the attainment gap and ensure equity for all. The successful candidate will be required to work shift patterns within the setting Monday-Friday, with some early / late shifts on rotation, within each month.
Please note - You must ensure that you have one of the following qualifications before you apply:
- SVQ Social Services (Children and Young People) SCQF Level 7
or
- HNC Childhood Practice
and

A qualification which provides credits towards the BA in Childhood Practice and meets SSSC registration requirements

This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. An unconditional offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.

Our salary range typically reflects the initial starting salary and annually increases until it reaches the top of the range.
