What you’ll do

  • Classification Solutions Development: Develop and recommend sustainable classification and separation solutions using Hydrocyclones tailored for mineral processing applications.
  • Simulation and Optimization: Conduct simulation studies to size hydrocyclones accurately and optimize mill circuit performance, ensuring proposals meet customer specifications and tender requirements.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting: Analyze hydrocyclone performance data rigorously and prepare detailed technical reports to support decision-making and continuous improvement.
  • Customer Engagement: Lead technical presentations and discussions with customers, effectively communicating complex concepts and solutions to build trust and support sales efforts.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with global technical teams and regional sales teams to align on product development and customer needs, contributing to Weir’s comminution strategy for hard rock minerals.
  • Travel Requirements: Occasional travel to customer sites or global team meetings may be required to support collaboration and customer engagement.
  • Success Metrics: Success in this role will be demonstrated by delivering innovative, energy-efficient hydrocyclone solutions that enhance customer satisfaction and contribute to Weir’s growth in the mineral processing sector.

What you’ll bring
Must-haves:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mineral Processing.
  • 1 to 2 years of experience in the mineral processing industry or research environment.
  • Strong knowledge of classification and separation processes, especially hydrocyclones in mill circuits.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills, with proven ability to present technical concepts effectively to customers.

Nice-to-haves:

  • Hands-on experience with hydrocyclone sizing and selection.
  • Familiarity with mineral processing simulation software.
  • Exposure to hard rock mineral processing operations and comminution circuit optimization.
  • Experience preparing technical proposals, tenders, or customer-facing solutions.
  • Background in research projects, publications, or thesis work related to classification, separation, or comminution.
  • Customer-facing experience with mine sites, engineering consultancies, or process plants.
