About The Role

Key Result Areas:
Lead the development, organization, and ongoing management of website content, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and alignment with institutional priorities
Oversee content uploading and updates across the website, maintaining consistency and quality
Shape a clear and consistent voice across all digital platforms
Apply principles of UX writing to ensure content is intuitive, accessible, and user-centered
Work closely with external developers and designers to oversee website enhancements and improvements, ensuring content and user experience are effectively integrated
Provide creative and strategic directions for future website developments, including structure, navigation, and content presentation
Produce and edit high-quality written content for the website, including program pages, research summaries, institutional narratives, and thought leadership pieces
Translate complex academic and religious concepts into clear, accessible, and compelling language
Support the development of long-form content including blogs, essays, and digital publications
Oversee and contribute to the creation of digital content across formats, including social media, newsletters, and multimedia assets
Work closely with internal teams to develop content that reflects ongoing work in programming, research, and partnerships
Ensure that content is integrated across platforms, rather than siloed
Support and refine content planning processes, including editorial calendars and content pipelines
Collaborate with the communications team to ensure clarity in priorities, timelines, and deliverables
Maintain high standards of editing, proofreading, and narrative coherence across outputs
Work cross-functionally with internal teams to understand initiatives and translate them into meaningful content
Engage with external vendors (e.g. web developers, designers) to ensure content is accurately and effectively represented
Contribute to strengthening Al-Mujadilah’s public intellectual presence through thoughtful content development
Other reasonable tasks as assigned by supervisor
Minimum Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and 6-8 years of relevant full-time work experience.
Experience in website content management and UX writing, with an understanding of how users engage with digital content
Ability to translate complex ideas into clear and engaging content for diverse audiences
Experience in content strategy, editorial planning, or digital communications
Strong understanding of how content functions across digital platforms and ecosystems
Ability to think both strategically and operationally
High attention to detail and commitment to quality and accuracy
Interest in or familiarity with Islamic studies, Muslim communities, or mission-driven institutions is highly desirable
Excellent writing skills with the ability to draft and edit a variety of written reports and communications and to articulate ideas clearly and concisely; Arabic proficiency is an advantage
Proficiency in MS Office applications
