About The Role
Your Role
Blue Shield of California is seeking a strategic and influential Brand Visual & Video Design Consultant to help shape and evolve the enterprise brand through visual storytelling, motion design, and multimedia experiences. In this role, you will partner with executive leaders, communications teams, marketers, product stakeholders, and creative professionals to translate business priorities into compelling visual narratives that strengthen audience engagement, enhance brand equity, and advance organizational objectives.
You will provide strategic guidance while also helping develop scalable creative solutions, enterprise brand standards, and multimedia experiences that ensure consistency across channels and touchpoints. The ideal candidate combines strategic thinking, creative leadership, and hands-on expertise in visual design, video production, and motion design, with the ability to influence stakeholders and deliver high-impact brand experiences.

Your Work
In this role you will:
- Partner with marketing, communications, product, and creative teams to maintain the governance of Blue Shield's visual identity system across digital, print, environmental, experiential, and multimedia channels
- Establish and maintain enterprise standards for visual expression, motion design, and storytelling to ensure consistency and scalability
- Collaborate with editors, copywriters, and external agencies to deliver engaging visual and video experiences
- Provide strategic consulting for product launches, enterprise initiatives, campaigns, events, and executive communications, leveraging visual and video storytelling to advance business objectives, strengthen audience engagement, and reinforce brand equity
- Stay current on industry trends, emerging technologies, social content formats, and best practices in brand design and video production
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining exceptional quality, attention to detail, and on-time delivery
Your Knowledge and Experience
- Requires a bachelor's degree or High School Diploma/GED and 4 years of additional relevant experience in lieu of a degree
- Requires at least 7 years of prior relevant experience leading brand strategy, visual design, creative direction, multimedia design, or integrated marketing initiatives within complex organizations
- Requires strong portfolio demonstrating visual design, video production, motion graphics, brand storytelling, and creative leadership
- Requires advanced proficiency in Figma, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects, Premiere Pro), PowerPoint and emerging AI-enabled creative technologies
- Requires experience developing and implementing brand standards, design systems, and creative frameworks that drive enterprise-wide consistency
- Proven ability to partner with senior leaders and cross-functional stakeholders, translating business objectives into strategic brand, visual, and storytelling solutions while influencing decision-making and gaining stakeholder alignment
- Deep expertise in brand systems, visual identity development, creative strategy, and integrated campaign execution across digital, print, experiential, and motion channels
- Knowledge of motion graphics, animation, video production, content strategy, and emerging digital storytelling trends
- Strong understanding of accessibility standards, inclusive design principles, and audience-centered communications
- Ability to identify opportunities, assess risks, and recommend innovative solutions that strengthen brand equity, audience engagement, and organizational objectives
- Healthcare industry experience or similar regulated industries strongly preferred
Hybrid
This role requires employees to be in-office based on our hybrid workplace model, balancing purposeful in-person collaboration with flexibility. For most teams, this means coming into the office two days each week.
Employees living more than 50 miles from an office location will work with their manager to determine in-office time based on business need.
