Director, PMO

Job Summary
Hologic is seeking an experienced Director of Program Management to join our dynamic team. This role will be critical in driving new product development programs from innovation through to launch providing end-to-end program management leadership by serving as the Core Team Leader for assigned programs. You will be accountable for integrated program plans, timelines, risk management, program team governance and delivery of the program objectives. As the primary point of contact for program execution, you will proactively manage risks, facilitate trade-off discussions, and enable informed decision-making at both the team and executive levels.
This position reports to the Vice President, Program Management Office and Strategic Initiatives and is a full-time, onsite position requiring in-person collaboration with cross-functional teams based in Marlborough, MA.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The incumbent may be asked to perform other function-related activities in addition to the below-mentioned responsibilities as reasonably required by business needs.
Program Management Leadership

• As a highly experienced Core Team Leader independently lead program management for one or more new product development programs from innovation through to post market surveillance
• Partner with the cross-functional core team members to define program strategy, conduct scenario planning, and translate strategy into executable plans to achieve program objectives
• Identify and manage program-level risks, assumptions, and interdependencies; lead mitigation planning and issue resolution
• Escalate risks and decision points with clear options and recommendations to Executive leadership
• Work with teams to prepare presentations for internal and external meetings (e.g., team presentations, abstracts, posters, management review, Board of Directors meetings)
• Lead, guide, mentor, and coach cross-functional core teams to achieve high performance.
• Successfully deliver complex programs that match business targets of cost, scope and timeline

Strategic & Operational Planning

• Develop and maintain integrated program plans, including milestones, timelines, budgets, and resource assumptions
• Monitor progress against plans, identify deviations, and implement mitigation strategies or alternative scenarios
• Conduct critical path and dependency analyses to proactively identify risks and bottlenecks

Communication & Stakeholder Management

• Ensure clear, consistent, and transparent communication of program status, key risks, and upcoming milestones through minutes, action items and decision tracking.
• Align diverse stakeholders around priorities, decisions, and execution plans in a matrixed environment

Process Excellence & Capability Building

• Contribute to the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of program management processes, tools, and templates
• Promote best practices in program planning, governance, and execution across the organization

Qualifications/Experiences

• 12 plus years of experience in program management, product/marketing management, product development, or related roles within diagnostics, pathology (cytology and/or histology), life sciences, or medical technology
• Deep knowledge and successful deployment of key fundamental program management skills across complex, cross-functional, new product development programs within life sciences
• A track record of have delivering commercially successful products which exceed customer and commercial expectations
• Skilled in the evaluation of information, managing ambiguity, and making sound decisions that balance program risk, cost, scope, quality and timeline.
• Demonstrated ability to apply financial and business insights to prioritize activities and investment options.
• Skilled at evaluating trade-offs, management of resources, ensuring programs deliver measurable business outcomes.
• Exert at communicating clearly, concisely, and appropriately to executives, sponsors, teams, and partners.
• Expert at securing alignment though influence not direct authority
• Proven at driving programs from planning through delivery while maintaining focus on outcomes, commitments, and business results.
• Skilled at leading through assigning ownership, accountability and ensuring delivery
• Expert at motivating program individuals and team members to high levels of contribution and performance, modulating messaging and approaches as situation requires
• Advanced knowledge and deep understanding of stage-gate based Product Development processes including Design Control procedures
• Experience within Diagnostics marketplace preferred; Molecular Diagnostics experience is a plus
• Expertise in lean program management principles highly desirable
• Experience with ISO and FDA quality systems regulations and regulated design and development cycles

Education

• BS Degree in Science or Engineering required
• MS, M.B.A or equivalent degree preferred
• PMP Certification preferred

Additional Requirements:

• Location: On-Site - Marlborough, MA
• Travel requirements: On average, 25% travel time. Ability to attend on-site, corporate, and field-based meetings as needed.
• Language requirements: English is our corporate language.
• Driving License: Holds a current driver’s license of relevant class.

The annualized base salary range for this role is $170,700- $303,600 and is bonus eligible. Final compensation packages will ultimately depend on factors including relevant experience, skillset, knowledge, geography, education, business needs and market demand.
