About the Role
This six-month fixed-term opportunity is ideal for a Business Analyst who enjoys working at the intersection of digital experience, user needs and organisational improvement. Reporting to the Project Manager, Website User Experience Enhancement, you will support the discovery phase of an initiative to shape the future of UOW’s website experience, operating model and content governance approach.
Working across faculties, divisions and technology teams, you will gather and analyse requirements, explore how people use and manage the University’s website, and identify opportunities for improvement.
You will translate research, data and stakeholder insights into clear findings and practical recommendations, supporting the development of the business case for the next phase of the initiative. This is an opportunity to contribute to a key strategic priority and help improve the digital experience for key audiences.
Key responsibilities:
- Gather, analyse and document business, functional and non-functional requirements through workshops, interviews, user research and other analysis techniques.
- Asses the current website environment, including content, information architecture, analytics, discoverability and accessibility.
- Map current and future-state user journeys and content publishing workflows, identifying pain points and opportunities for improvement.
- Prepare clear documentation, findings and recommendations to support project decision-making, and the business case for the next phase.
About the Team
This position sits within UOW’s Brand and Marketing Division, which leads the University’s brand, marketing and digital engagement, including its website and digital channels.
You will work closely with the Project Manager, Brand and Marketing teams, Information Management and Technology Services (IMTS), faculties, divisions, and external agency partners to build a shared understanding of user and organisational needs and inform the future of UOW’s online experience.
What You’ll Bring
We’re looking for an analytical and collaborative Business Analyst who can translate complex information and diverse stakeholder needs into clear, practical insights.
- A relevant degree with subsequent relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- Demonstrated business analysis experience, including requirements elicitation, documentation and process or journey mapping, ideally within digital or web projects.
- Sound understanding of website content, user experience, information architecture, SEO, GEO, accessibility, including WCAG, and web analytics.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to synthesise complex information into practical findings and recommendations.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to work effectively across technical and non-technical teams.

Role Details
- Employment type: Fixed-term, Full-time appointment (6 months)
- Level 6/7: $96,898 - $119,986 + 17% superannuation commensurate with experience and capability
