About The Role

Are you a scientist with a strong foundation in analytical chemistry or laboratory testing who is ready to extend your impact beyond the laboratory?
As a Senior Technical Reviewer, you will join NSF’s growing Nutrition & Wellness Technical Leadership team. This role requires deep expertise in analytical chemistry, laboratory testing, and product formulation, combined with the ability to apply scientific rigor in a customer‑facing, standard-driven environment.
Leveraging your scientific credibility and hands‑on laboratory experience, you will help customers, regulators, and industry stakeholders understand the science, rigor, and integrity behind NSF’s testing and certification programs. You will play a critical role in the scientific development, maintenance, and technical leadership of NSF/ANSI Standard 173 certification for dietary supplements, representing NSF as a trusted technical authority.
In addition, this role contributes to thought leadership and technical content creation—both internally and externally—to advance program recognition, scientific excellence, and industry adoption.

Serve as the technical subject matter expert for NSF's Nutrition & Wellness testing services and NSF/ANSI 173 certification programs, ensuring compliance with accreditation requirements and providing scientific leadership in analytical chemistry, contamination, and adulterant testing
Act as a trusted advisor to clients, partners, and internal stakeholders by translating complex scientific concepts, laboratory capabilities, and testing methodologies into clear, customer-focused solutions and value propositions
Represent NSF as a technical spokesperson through client engagements, presentations, conferences, industry events, standards committees, and interactions with regulatory agencies, sporting organizations, and industry associations
Collaborate with laboratory, quality, operations, marketing, and cross-functional teams to support service development, external messaging, innovation initiatives, and the delivery of integrated certification and testing solutions
Monitor emerging regulations, industry trends, best practices, and new testing technologies to strengthen NSF's service offerings and technical expertise
Perform technical reviews of products, processes, and certification requirements while supporting standards development activities and participating in NSF Joint Committees as needed
Mentor and train team members, provide technical guidance, and communicate project updates, recommendations, and deliverables to leadership
Bachelor’s degree in Analytical Chemistry
Minimum 5-10 years of experience in the dietary supplement or academic industry
In-depth dietary supplement, manufacturing, or formulary experience
Master's or PhD in Analytical Chemistry or related field
Commercial or client-facing experience
