Assistant Manager, Product Development – Hair Product

Job Description Summary:
The Assistant Manager, Product Development – Hair Product position is responsible for supporting the development of new Hair & Beauty products from initial concept through commercialization.
The role will work closely with Product, IPM, Design, Sales, and overseas vendors/factories to manage product concepts, samples, specifications, cost, quality, and development timelines for existing and new Hair Brand initiatives.
Job Description:

Key Responsibilities

• Research market trends and identify opportunities for new Hair Product development.
• Develop product concepts based on market trends, customer needs, and business objectives.
• Manage the sample development and evaluation process from initial concept through final approval.
• Source and communicate with overseas vendors/factories regarding product development.
• Establish and maintain product specifications, materials, colors, styles, and quality standards.
• Review product samples and coordinate necessary modifications and improvements.
• Work with vendors and internal teams on product cost, quality, packaging, and development timelines.
• Coordinate with Design on packaging and product presentation requirements.
• Partner with IPM to support production transition and initial purchase orders following product approval.
• Monitor Hair / Beauty / Fashion trends and competitor products to identify new product opportunities.
• Support development activities for both existing Vivace products and new Hair Brand initiatives.
• Maintain product development documentation, sample records, and project timelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Experience in Hair / Beauty Product Development, Product Management, or Sourcing preferred.
• Experience with Human Hair, Wigs, Extensions, Braiding Hair, Crochet Hair, or related Hair Products is highly preferred.
• Experience working with overseas vendors/factories is preferred.
• Knowledge of product development processes including sampling, costing, specifications, and quality control.
• Strong understanding of Beauty, Fashion, and consumer trends.
• Strong project management, communication, and organizational skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed.
• Korean-English bilingual preferred.

The anticipated compensation range is
22.75 - 44.50 USD Hourly
Actual compensation will be determined based on various factors including qualifications, education, experience, and location. The pay range is subject to change at any time dependent on a variety of internal and external factors.
