Early Professional, Water & Wastewater

US GCC Water team in WSP India is looking to induct Water & Wastewater professional in our Bengaluru/Mumbai/Noida office. As a Water & Wastewater professional, you will have the basic understanding of wastewater, storm engineering. The role offers excellent opportunities for a candidate seeking to progress their career and looking for experience, training and support with their development and future career progression.
In this role, you will get the opportunity to work on projects across Water Infrastructure projects, primarily in United States, as part of a wider team of accomplished cross sector and multi-disciplinary professionals across geographies. Also, this position offers the opportunity to be part of a dedicated Water team working on a range of project sizes and types, from stand-alone engineering, design to multi-disciplinary development projects.
The successful candidate will gain experience in coordinating with our US counterparts in the development and delivery of water infrastructure projects through various stages of the project cycle including inception, planning, feasibility, data analysis, detailed design, drawing production and construction support while adhering to WSP standards. You will gain by creating solution for management of water and wastewater and integrating your solutions into our client’s overall project.

• Strong understanding of Hydraulics, Environmental Engineering, Hydrology concepts
• Good knowledge and understanding of water supply, wastewater, storm water network and water and wastewater treatment, pumping stations etc.
• Supports the project team in creating plans, and technical options/strategies for clients in the public and private sectors across a range of topics, in water sector.
• Able to undertake technical analysis and presentations.
• Good communication and analytical skills.
• Committed to technical excellence.
• Will consult with and answer technical questions from engineers and explain complex concepts to fellow engineers.
• Prepares high quality technical reports and provides inputs into tender documents and contractor specifications.

Software Proficiencies

WaterGEMS, SewerGEMS, Other design software
QGIS, ArcGIS etc

Civil 3D, 12D and similar
HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS HY-8 and similar
VIBE programming skills

• Master’s degree in relevant discipline (Civil/Environmental Engineering, Water Resources Engineering/ Management or Bachelor’s in civil / environmental engineering/Water Resources Engineering
• Preferred, Member of a professional body like CIWEM, ICE etc.; Chartered or equivalent
• A minimum of 2 to 4 years’ experience within a consultancy environment
• Experience in hydraulic modelling for large scale Wastewater and Storm Infrastructure projects.

Experience

• Skilled in Urban drainage modelling, runoff estimation, storage/attenuation system design, hydraulic model build, verification using hydraulic modelling tools.
• Experience in the design of sewer & water network designs for planned layouts and developments.
• Knowledge of hydrologic–hydraulic modelling using SWMM framework.

Knowledge and understanding of international codes and standards.

Ability to work well as part of a team or on an individual basis.

Good report writing skills.
