Portal Mines - Underground Tireman (Tech 4 or Higher)

Our people division is growing, and we are looking for a Tireman I (Tech 4) in our Underground Maintenance department.

Responsibilities and Qualifications:

• Perform basic electrical trouble shooting.
• Ability to run a test light or multimeter
• Perform basic light vehicle maintenance.
• Install brake and front-end components.
• Diagnose and repair TPMS systems.
• Dismount, mount, and balance light vehicle tires.
• Replace U-joints and drivelines.
• Replace alternator and fan belts.
• Equipment operation
• Ability to operate boom truck.
• OTR Tire experience + 3 years required surface or underground
• Ability to dismount and mount single and multi-piece wheels.
• Ability to recognize damaged or worn-out wheel components.
• Knowledge of tire classification, ability to identify basic markings on sidewalls: tire size, serial numbers etc.
• Ability to operate all hand tools associated with changing OTR tires.
• Ability to safely dismount and mount OTR tires.
