About The Role

As an Advanced Associate Content Developer you will work collaboratively with a team of talented Content Developers to create and maintain exam question databases, edit exam questions, prepare and facilitate content development meetings, prepare exams for publication, and support other projects. You will be part of a high-caliber, team-oriented environment. The team will rely on you for accuracy - efficiency with sustained detail-oriented tasks is required.
As a member of the Professional Certification Content Development team, you will support in-person and virtual content development workshops with subject matter experts (SMEs). You will assist with item bank maintenance and perform exam bank account management. You will review exam questions authored by Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to ensure that they are grammatically correct and follow client style guidelines. You will work with varied subject matter of differing complexity. You will contribute to successful exam assembly, including validation and completing quality control checks. Flexibility is essential when responding to multiple work requests; the ability to work closely with a team to prioritize work and meet deadlines is extremely desirable.
You will be expected to manage a workstream of overlapping projects and to complete tasks accurately and on time. We will help you achieve your goals by equipping you with training, resources, and a team approach to work prioritization and problem-solving. You will adhere to a traditional daily schedule but will also enjoy flexibility with core hours.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILTIES:

Use proprietary item/exam development and banking software to maintain and manage test content (items) and associated elements throughout the development lifecycle, maintaining accuracy, quality, validity, style guide adherence, and Pearson standards.

Use proprietary item/exam development and banking software to maintain, manage, and audit user accounts.

Perform various database maintenance, data entry, and referencing tasks in proprietary item banking software.

Understand intellectual property confidentiality and security considerations and abide by defined business practices to provide appropriate protection.

Partner with clients and cross-functional teams on multiple exam programs and deliverables, monitoring scope and deadlines, and escalating risks as needed.

Adhere to project schedules and manage multiple project deliverables.

Review, edit, and manage exam content (questions), associated elements, and materials for accuracy, quality, validity, as well as for adherence to Pearson VUE and client standards.

Proofread content in various applications including Word, Excel, and proprietary Pearson VUE systems

Co-facilitate item and exam development activities with clients and their SMEs per contract and exam program needs.

Assist with preparation of workshop materials, including agendas, handouts for SMEs, and workshop summary reports.

Assist exam development efforts, ensuring accuracy through established QC processes and guidelines. Complete validation tasks, including verification of data in spreadsheets.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree required

2+ years of professional office work experience preferred

Experience as content or test developer, related coursework, or other direct applicable experience preferred
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

Passionate about quality and attention to detail (e.g., proofreading)

Ability to learn a variety of technical systems and applications

Initiative and the ability to prioritize tasks and adapt to shifting priorities

Proficiency with Microsoft Office (e.g., Teams, Outlook, Excel, Word, Sharepoint, OneDrive)

Compensation at Pearson is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific location. As required by the California, Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York State, New York City, Vermont, Washington State, and Washington DC laws, the pay range for this position is as follows:
The minimum full-time salary range is between $45,000 - $55,000.
