About The Role
The Intercompany Analyst is a key member of the Intercompany team, supporting the analysis and reconciliation of intercompany transactions and account balances, assisting with month-end close activities, and contributing to ongoing process improvement efforts. This role works closely with stakeholders across multiple regions and functions, including Controllership, Shared Business Services (SBS), and Treasury, to help maintain accurate financial records and support efficient intercompany processes.
This role is not hybrid/remote and will be located at our Global Headquarters in Cleveland, OH.
Because this role involves access to confidential financial information, the Company has determined that a review of criminal history is necessary to protect the business and its operations and reputation and to provide similar protections for its clients and potential investments.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS
- Intercompany Transaction Management: Assist with support of the intercompany workbench process which is used to account for intercompany transactions between North American legal entities (US, Canada, & Caribbean). This includes coordination with Controllership, AP, AR and other cross functional teams.

Intercompany Statements and Netting: Maintain monthly intercompany statements for trade between The Sherwin-Williams Company (U.S.) & International Divisions. The intercompany statements detail all intercompany activity between The Sherwin-Williams Company (U.S.) and their foreign trading partners including invoices and payment applications. Analyst will monitor aging transactions and assist in resolving processing issues, exceptions, and any discrepancies. Additionally, Analyst will assist with the monthly intercompany netting process.

Intercompany Invoicing & Process Optimization: Manage manual intercompany invoicing processes to ensure transactions are accounted for appropriately by both trading partners. Additionally, evaluate existing processes to gain efficiencies, challenge the necessity of immaterial charge-outs, and identify invoices that can be processed via subledgers.

Reconciliation & Out-of-Balance Resolution: Investigate discrepancies between trading partners to align intercompany relationships and coordinate with various cross functional teams (International Controllership, SBS, etc.) to ensure that intercompany transactions are accurately recorded and settled in a timely manner. Perform root cause analysis and assist in resolution to prevent recurring issues.
- Month-End Close: Prepare manual journal entries related to intercompany month-end close processes. Additionally, prepare monthly intercompany account reconciliations and investigate/resolve reconciling items.

Special Projects: Participate in Finance & Business Transformation initiatives as needed.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Required:

Bachelor’s degree with Major in Accounting or Finance

2+ years of experience in finance/accounting
- Microsoft Office experience
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future for employment visa status
- Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age
Preferred:
-
Certified Public Accountant, or in process of obtaining license
- Experience with Oracle and/or OneStream
- Experience with Oracle General Ledger
- Experience performing account reconciliations, balance sheet analysis, and variance investigations
