Senior Financial Analyst

A quick look at the role
As a Senior Financial Analyst, you’ll play a key role within our Divisional Accounting team, supporting the Head of Divisional Accounting to drive our strategy and develop a consistent, standardised approach to cost accounting across the business. You’ll lead on improving cost accounting processes and postings, implementing new ways of working and strengthening controls, while also coaching Financial Analysts across the team. Your core responsibilities

• Support the preparation and review of month-end accounts, ensuring accurate and timely delivery against internal reporting deadlines and agreed SLAs.
• Own and review monthly balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring robust controls, appropriate supporting evidence and timely resolution of issues.
• Provide challenge and guidance to Divisional Finance teams on accounting treatments, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and principles.
• Support the Head of Divisional Accounting in developing, monitoring and strengthening financial controls, processes and disciplines across the function.
• Drive improvements to existing processes, schedules and ways of working, introducing standardised and fit-for-purpose approaches across the divisions.
• Work closely with the Finance Optimisation team, Divisional and Group FBPs to identify and deliver process improvements and support future development requirements.
• Act as a key point of contact for Divisional Finance teams, building strong stakeholder relationships and leading regular, meaningful review and feedback sessions.
• Support team capacity planning, coach and review the work of Financial Analysts, provide cover where required and deputise for the Head of Divisional Accounting when needed.

Our essential requirements

• 4+ years’ experience in a finance or management accounts environment, with a strong understanding of management accounting principles and best practice.
• Fully or part-qualified ACCA, CIMA or equivalent qualification (desirable).
• Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail and a focus on accuracy.
• Advanced Excel skills and strong overall IT literacy, with experience across Microsoft Office applications.
• A proactive, self-motivated approach, with the ability to use initiative, manage priorities and meet deadlines.
• A pragmatic and solutions-focused approach to problem solving, with a focus on delivering outcomes that meet end-user requirements.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build effective relationships across both Finance and non-Finance teams.
• A collaborative, can-do approach, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively as part of a wider team.
