About us

Kyndred builds AI companions. We're a small team in Bucharest, small enough that whatever you ship is in front of users within days, not quarters.
The role
You own two surfaces end to end: the web app and the desktop clients.
Today the desktop client runs on Windows. You'd take it to macOS and Linux, keep all three in step as features land, and own the build and release pipeline that gets them there.
Mobile is already covered by someone else. You won't be spread across four platforms doing all of them at sixty percent.
There is a feature list and a clear architecture. User inputs flow into a context manager, and the AI layer takes it from there. You won't be inventing the product from scratch. You also won't be handed tickets. You get the what, you own the how.
What you'll actually do

• Build and ship the web app (Next.js, TypeScript)
• Take the desktop client to macOS and Linux with Tauri
• Wire new input types on every client into the AI infrastructure
• Bring existing features to parity across all clients
• Own packaging, signing, releases, and distribution

What this is not
You'd be the only engineer on two surfaces. There's no review layer to hide behind, and some weeks get heavy, especially around releases.
We'd rather tell you that now than lose you in six months. If you want a hard 40-hour boundary every week, this isn't the right role.

• Around 7+ years shipping product, with real end-to-end ownership: you made the calls, not just the commits
• Strong Next.js and TypeScript (our whole codebase is there)
• Enough systems comfort to handle desktop builds, packaging and platform quirks without flinching
• Tauri, Electron or Rust is a bonus, not a requirement. If you're strong on the rest, we expect you to pick Tauri up in a week
• You can go from a one-line feature description to something shipped without a product manager in between
• Salary: 5,000 to 7,000 EUR gross / month, depending on experience
• Equity: discussed at offer stage
• Location: Bucharest, in-office or hybrid. We want you next to us for the first few months. The product context lives in the founder's head, and the fastest way to move it is a desk.
