Production Welding Engineer

To provide qualified welding engineering support for ongoing and upcoming projects by ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality welding operations from prefabrication through final assembly, while meeting approved procedures, project specifications, productivity targets, and delivery schedules. The Production Welding Engineer will coordinate and improve welding activities to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant production while achieving project targets, minimizing weld repairs, and ensuring timely welding resources and technical support.

• Review project specifications, drawings, codes, standards, WPSs, and NDT requirements to ensure welding compliance.
• Coordinate welding documentation, including WPSs, welder qualifications, registers, and production test coupons.
• Plan welding work fronts, station layouts, manpower, equipment, consumables, production targets, and logistics.
• Monitor welding production and quality, ensuring proper fit-up, preheating, consumable control, and compliance with approved procedures.
• Coordinate with Quality, Maintenance, Warehouse, Construction, Scaffolding, and Project Management teams to maintain efficient workflow.
• Track welding progress, productivity, NDT results, repair rates, equipment, and consumable requirements.
• Investigate welding defects, delays, and nonconformities; implement corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Support achievement of production, quality, safety, schedule, and cost objectives while minimizing rework and weld repairs.

1. Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Welding Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
2. Fresh graduates are welcome to apply. Candidates with 1–3 years of experience in welding production or a similar industrial environment will be an advantage.
3. ⁠Basic understanding of welding processes, WPS/PQR, welder qualifications and NDT.
4. Basic knowledge of applicable welding codes and standards, such as AWS D1.1 ASME IX and ISO 1906.
5. Professional welding certification such as CSWIP 3.0. 3.1, IWE/IWT, NDT or equivalent qualification is an advantage.
6. Good communication, coordination, problem-solving, teamwork, and time-management skills.
7. Proactive, willing to learn, and able to work in a fast-paced fabrication/production environment.
8. Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word, with the ability to prepare basic production reports and monitor welding-related data and KPIs.
