The Opportunity:
The Project Engineer – Finishing will play a key role in the successful execution, supervision, quality control, and timely completion of architectural and finishing works at the Queen Elizabeth’s School, Gurugram project site.
The role will be responsible for ensuring that all finishing works are executed in accordance with approved GFC drawings, BOQs, technical specifications, approved materials and samples, quality standards, and project schedules. The successful candidate will work closely with contractors, architects, MEP teams, vendors, consultants, and the wider Project Team to ensure high-quality execution across all assigned work fronts.
This is a site-based role requiring strong technical knowledge, attention to detail, effective coordination skills, and the ability to manage multiple activities while maintaining project timelines and quality expectations.
The Role:
Site Execution & Supervision

  • Supervise and monitor day-to-day architectural and finishing activities across assigned blocks and work areas.
  • Ensure all works are executed in accordance with approved GFC drawings, BOQs, specifications, approved materials, samples, and mock-ups.
  • Monitor work progress and ensure activities are completed in line with approved project schedules and milestones.
  • Independently manage multiple work fronts and coordinate resources to maintain planned progress.
  • Monitor workmanship, productivity, manpower deployment, and material availability at site.

Architectural Finishing Works

  • Supervise and coordinate finishing activities including flooring, wall finishes, painting, false ceilings, doors, windows, glazing, façade works, stone works, joinery, toilet finishes, waterproofing, and other architectural works.
  • Review drawings and specifications to identify execution requirements, discrepancies, and potential site constraints.
  • Ensure appropriate sequencing and coordination of finishing activities with civil, MEP, and other associated works.
  • Ensure approved samples and mock-ups are followed consistently during execution.

Quality Control & Inspection

  • Monitor workmanship and quality at each stage of execution and ensure compliance with project quality standards.
  • Raise and coordinate Inspection Requests (IRs) prior to execution or closure of relevant activities, wherever required.
  • Identify quality issues and coordinate timely corrective and preventive actions with contractors and the Project Team.
  • Ensure completed works meet the required specifications and approved standards before handover.
  • Support snagging inspections, rectification, re-inspection, and final closure of outstanding works.

Contractor & Stakeholder Coordination

  • Coordinate closely with the Civil Contractor, Architect (CPKA), MEP team, consultants, vendors, subcontractors, and the Project Team.
  • Identify site constraints, pending drawings, material requirements, technical queries, and execution issues and coordinate with relevant stakeholders for timely resolution.
  • Follow up on approved drawings, material submissions, samples, mock-ups, and site instructions to minimise delays.
  • Facilitate effective communication between site teams and project stakeholders to maintain smooth execution.

Progress Monitoring & Reporting

  • Prepare and maintain daily and weekly progress reports covering work fronts, manpower, productivity, material availability, and key activities.
  • Monitor actual progress against approved project schedules and highlight delays, risks, and constraints.
  • Provide regular updates on block-wise progress and completion status to the Project Manager / Project Lead.
  • Support the preparation and tracking of block-wise handover and project completion plans.

Measurements & Documentation

  • Verify measurements and completed works in coordination with the Billing Engineer and Project Team.
  • Maintain accurate records of approved materials, samples, mock-ups, inspection records, site instructions, and other relevant project documentation.
  • Ensure site documentation is maintained in accordance with project processes and requirements.
  • Support the Project Team in maintaining proper records for completion, handover, and final closure.

Handover & Project Completion

  • Coordinate snagging and rectification activities across assigned areas.
  • Ensure all outstanding works and snags are closed within agreed timelines.
  • Assist in achieving block-wise handover and overall project completion targets.
  • Ensure completed areas are ready for inspection, handover, and subsequent school operations.
  • Support final inspections and closure activities in coordination with the Project Team and relevant stakeholders.

Health, Safety & Site Standards

  • Ensure contractors and site teams comply with applicable health and safety requirements.
  • Monitor site housekeeping and ensure work areas are maintained in a safe and organised condition.
  • Promptly escalate any safety, quality, or site-related concerns to the appropriate Project Team members.
  • Promote a disciplined, professional, and quality-focused site environment.

The Person:
Qualifications and Experience

  • B.E./B.Tech/Diploma in Civil Engineering.
  • 8–12 years of relevant experience in building construction, with strong exposure to architectural finishing and interior coordination.
  • Experience in high-end educational, institutional, commercial, residential, or similar projects will be an advantage.
  • Strong knowledge of architectural finishing works, construction drawings, GFC drawings, BOQs, specifications, approved samples, and quality standards.
  • Proven experience in site execution, contractor coordination, quality control, snagging, and project handover.
  • Experience coordinating with architects, consultants, MEP teams, contractors, vendors, and subcontractors.
  • Good understanding of project schedules, work-front planning, measurements, and progress monitoring.
