Demi Chef de Partie - Pastry & Bakery

Job Brief

We are looking for a capable Demi Chef de Partie to assist in running the pastry section and support the Pastry Chef de Partie in daily operations. You will help prepare and bake pastry and bakery items to a high standard, supervise junior staff, and step in to lead the section when needed. This role suits someone with strong pastry experience who is progressing toward a Pastry Chef de Partie position.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Pastry Chef de Partie in running the pastry section and cover it when needed.
• Prepare, bake, and finish pastry and bakery items to the company's quality and presentation standards.
• Supervise and train Commis I, II, and III staff within the pastry section.
• Monitor stock levels, ordering, and storage to reduce waste and avoid shortages.
• Check ingredient quality and freshness, and ensure recipes and portions are followed correctly.
• Follow food safety, hygiene, and cleaning standards set by the company and local health authorities.
• Support menu planning, tastings, and special events alongside senior pastry chefs.
• Pastry or bakery diploma or certificate is an advantage; additional training or specialization is a plus.
• At least 3 to 4 years of pastry or bakery experience, including time as a Commis I or similar role.
• Strong baking skills and food safety knowledge; able to lead a section and supervise a small team.
