Commis II - Pastry & Bakery

Job Brief

We are looking for a skilled Commis II to prepare and bake pastry and bakery items under the guidance of senior pastry chefs. You will handle specific pastry tasks, follow recipes closely, and help train junior pastry staff. This role suits someone with some pastry experience who is ready to take on more baking responsibility.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and bake pastry, bread, and dessert items following standard recipes and instructions.
• Handle a specific pastry task or item type (e.g. doughs, creams, chocolate work) under supervision.
• Check ingredient quality and freshness before use and report any issues.
• Guide and support Commis III with basic pastry and bakery prep tasks.
• Maintain portion control, presentation, and consistency of pastry and bakery items.
• Follow food safety, hygiene, and cleaning standards set by the company and local health authorities.
• Keep the assigned work station, tools, and equipment clean and well organized.
• Pastry or bakery certificate or diploma is an advantage; equivalent practical training also accepted.
• At least 1 to 2 years of pastry or bakery experience, ideally in a similar setting.
• Basic knowledge of baking methods, food safety, and pastry equipment; able to work well in a team.
