Software Engineer

The SAP ABAP Developer will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and supporting SAP applications within ECC and S/4HANA environments. The role requires expertise in traditional ABAP development as well as modern SAP development frameworks, including RAP, CDS Views, and OData services.
Working closely with functional consultants, architects, and business stakeholders, the successful candidate will develop high-quality technical solutions aligned with SAP best practices and Clean Core principles, ensuring maintainability, performance, and future upgrade compatibility.

• Design, develop, test, and deploy SAP ABAP solutions, including Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Enhancements, Forms, and Workflows (RICEFW).
• Develop and enhance business applications using SAP's RESTful ABAP Programming Model (RAP).
• Create and maintain:
• Behavior Definitions
• Behavior Implementations
• Service Definitions
• Service Bindings
• Apply SAP Clean Core principles by developing upgrade-safe extensions using in-app and side-by-side extensibility approaches.
• Design and develop Core Data Services (CDS) Views and OData services to support SAP Fiori applications and integrations.
• Utilize ABAP Object-Oriented Programming techniques to build reusable and maintainable solutions.
• Collaborate with functional consultants and business stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical designs.
• Conduct code reviews and unit testing while ensuring adherence to SAP development standards and performance optimization practices.
• Support integrations using SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP), SAP API Management, and SAP Integration Suite where applicable.
• Troubleshoot production issues and provide timely defect resolution.
• Support release management activities, including retrofit, regression testing, and deployment activities.
• Prepare technical design documentation, unit test results, and knowledge transfer materials.
• Stay current with SAP S/4HANA extensibility strategies, RAP enhancements, and ABAP Development Tools (ADT) updates.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
• 3+ years of SAP ABAP development experience in ECC and/or SAP S/4HANA environments.
• Experience developing custom ABAP solutions, including reports, interfaces, enhancements, forms, and workflows.
• Hands-on experience with:
• Core Data Services (CDS) Views
• OData Services
• ABAP Object-Oriented Programming
• Enhancement Frameworks (BAdIs, User Exits, Enhancement Spots)
• Exposure to SAP RESTful ABAP Programming Model (RAP) development.
• Experience using ABAP Development Tools (ADT) within Eclipse.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with SAP Clean Core development principles.
• Exposure to SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP).
• Knowledge of ABAP Managed Database Procedures (AMDP).
• Familiarity with SAP Gateway and SAP Fiori/UI5 development concepts.
• Experience with Git-based source control and CI/CD pipelines.
• Exposure to SAP Integration Suite and API Management.
