Clinical Dietitian - Pediatrics Endocrinology Outpatient

Baystate Health is seeking a Clinical Dietitian to join our Pediatrics Outpatient team at our Pediatrics Endocrinology Clinic in Springfield, Massachusetts.

The Clinical Dietitian Will

• Conducts comprehensive, age-appropriate nutrition assessments, evaluating growth patterns, dietary intake, nutrition-related behaviors, laboratory data, medications, and relevant medical and social factors.
• Applies the Nutrition Care Process to identify nutrition diagnoses and develop, implement, and evaluate individualized, patient- and family-centered nutrition care plans.
• Provides evidence-based nutrition counseling and therapeutic diet education for pediatric patients and families, using motivational interviewing, teach-back, goal setting, and other patient-centered approaches.
• Provides condition-specific nutrition care for pediatric endocrine disorders, including diabetes, abnormal weight gain or weight management, dyslipidemia, and other nutrition-related metabolic conditions.
• Collaborates with pediatric endocrinologists, nurses, advanced practice providers, behavioral health professionals, and other members of the interdisciplinary team to coordinate comprehensive patient care.
• Monitors growth, weight trends, dietary intake, laboratory values, and other clinical indicators; evaluates progress and adjusts nutrition interventions based on patient response and evolving needs.
• Establishes trusting relationships with patients and families and develops practical nutrition strategies that consider developmental stage, cultural preferences, family routines, school environment, and individual goals.
• Maintains accurate and timely clinical documentation, communicates nutrition recommendations and follow-up plans, and connects patients and families with appropriate healthcare and community resources when indicated.

Schedule Details

• Job Type: Full-Time
• Shift: Days
• Hours: 8-hour shifts
• Schedule: 4 shifts per week, Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm
• Weekend Requirement: No weekends
• Other Scheduling Requirements: No Holidays

Required Skills

• Registered Dietitian- Commission on Dietetic Registration
• Licensed Dietitian- Commonwealth of MA
• Education: BS in Nutrition or related subject (required) or Masters preferred (Masters required for all those registered 2024 and after)

Compensation

Note: The compensation range(s) in the table below represent the base salaries for all positions at a given grade across the health system. Typically, a new hire can expect a starting salary somewhere in the lower part of the range. Actual salaries may vary by position and will be determined based on the candidate's relevant experience. No employee will be paid below the minimum of the range. Pay ranges are listed as hourly for non-exempt employees and based on assumed full time commitment for exempt employees.

$60,944.00 - $79,185.00 - $104,748.00
