## Description
**Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of Veterans?**
Veteran Pathways of New England is seeking a dependable, compassionate, and community-minded Community Support Specialist (CSS) to provide one-on-one support to a Veteran in the Weare, New Hampshire area.
In this role, you will accompany the Veteran to appointments, actively participate in recreational and community activities, and provide consistent one-on-one support.
This is a temporary independent contractor opportunity for up to 40 hours per month. Scheduling will vary based on the Veteran's appointments, planned activities, and individual support needs.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Provide one-on-one support to the assigned Veteran.
- Accompany the Veteran to occupational therapy appointments and other approved outings.
- Encourage and actively participate with the Veteran in recreational and community activities.
- Assist in planning meaningful and mutually enjoyable activities.
- Maintain a detailed log of activities performed.
- Submit the required monthly activity report, including activity logs, mileage documentation, and receipts for approved expenses.
## Qualifications
**Requirements**
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must successfully complete a background check.
- Must possess a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Must be available to provide weekly support with a flexible schedule that may include daytime and evening hours.
- Must maintain accurate activity logs and documentation.
- Background in social work, human services, or experience working with Veterans is helpful but not required.
**Schedule**
- Up to 40 hours per month.
- Weekly engagement is expected.
- Hours will vary based on the Veteran’s appointments and planned activities.
- Flexible availability is required, including daytime and evening hours.
- **Compensation**
- Compensation is $40.00 per hour.
- Mileage and approved incidental expenses will be reimbursed.

**Independent Contractor**
