About the team
The AV Engineering team designs, builds, and maintains the audio-visual systems that power collaboration across Zillow's offices and events. As Zillow continues to grow as a distributed company, reliable in-person and hybrid experiences remain an important part of how teams work together. This team partners closely with Workplace and workplace technology partners to make those experiences smooth, dependable, and easy for employees and guests to navigate.

About the role

The A/V Engineering team consists of 2 engineers, working alongside the A/V Implementation Manager, reporting to the Senior Manager or Workplace Experience. As an AV Engineer on the Zillow AV team, you will install, commission, and maintain the audio-visual systems that power Zillow's conference rooms, event spaces, and executive environments, primarily in Zillow's Seattle office. You'll bring deep hands-on expertise in Q-SYS and AV networking, own the configuration and reliability of AV systems, and provide break/fix support that keeps our spaces running.
You will get to:

• Install, configure, commission, and test AV systems and equipment based on design documentation, drawings, and bills of materials.
• Program, configure, and maintain Q-SYS systems, including custom scripting in Lua and working with JSON for control, automation, and integrations.
• Deploy and troubleshoot AV-over-IP transports (Dante, AES67, Q-LAN) and the underlying network configuration that supports them, including QoS and multicast.
• Provide break/fix support for existing AV systems, diagnosing, resolving, and restoring service on conference room and event technology.
• Provide on-site AV support for live and hybrid events and productions, including setup, operation, real-time troubleshooting, and teardown.
• Assist with production of virtual All-Hands Zoom events.
• Support and troubleshoot Zoom and Zoom Rooms and related collaboration platforms.
• Maintain accurate AV documentation, including as-built drawings, configurations, and standard operating procedures.
• Partner with the Senior AV Engineer and AV Implementation Manager to uphold AV standards and continuously improve system reliability.
• Partner with Workplace teammates to understand employee needs and usage patterns for hybrid event and room setups.
• Provide backup coverage for our AV Event Technician for onsite, hybrid and remote live events.

This role has been categorized as an in-office position. In-office employees regularly work at an existing ZG corporate office for approximately 80 to 100 percent of their time each month. Employees must live within reasonable commuting distance of their designated ZG office
This role has been categorized as a Remote position. “Remote” employees do not have a permanent corporate office workplace and, instead, work from a physical location of their choice, which must be identified to the Company. U.S. employees may live in any of the 50 United States, with limited exceptions.
In California, Connecticut, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Washington state, and Washington DC the standard base pay range for this role is $98,900.00 - $158,100.00 annually. This base pay range is specific to these locations and may not be applicable to other locations.
In addition to a competitive base salary this position is also eligible for equity awards based on factors such as experience, performance and location. Actual amounts will vary depending on experience, performance and location. Employees in this role will not be paid below the salary threshold for exempt employees in the state where they reside.
Who you are

• You bring 3+ years of hands-on experience in AV installation, engineering, and support, ideally in a corporate or enterprise environment.
• You have Q-SYS experience, including Q-SYS Designer, control programming, and scripting with Lua and JSON.
• You have strong proficiency in AV networking, including AV-over-IP transport protocols such as Dante, AES67, and Q-LAN, and the network configuration that supports them (QoS, multicast, VLANs), backed by a solid understanding of general IP networking principles.
• You have demonstrated ability to install AV hardware and provide break/fix support to production AV systems.
• You have experience providing AV support for live and hybrid events and productions.
• You have working knowledge of administration of Zoom Rooms, along with comfort troubleshooting common audio, video, and control issues.
• You can read and interpret AV schematics, rack layouts, and wiring diagrams.
• You may also bring industry certifications such as Q-SYS Level 2, Audinate Dante level 2 or higher, or AVIXA CTS / CTS-I / CTS-D.
• You are a strong communicator and collaborator who stays calm under pressure and is focused on creating a great experience for employees and guests.
• You are detail-oriented, methodical in your testing and follow-through, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where priorities may shift quickly.
