Your function

EGI is looking to strengthen its Owner's Engineering team in the context of the growing integration of renewable energy sources, energy markets, and balancing markets.

We are seeking an experienced Civil Engineer with project management experience to support the preparation, planning, and implementation of high-voltage substation projects.

In this role, you will contribute to the successful delivery of projects by overseeing quality, budget, schedule, and reporting activities. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders to help ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to a high technical standard.

We are looking for someone who combines technical expertise with strong organizational and communication skills and who enjoys working collaboratively in an international environment.

Typical activities involve (but are not limited to)

• Defining project-specific requirements for HV substations, with a focus on civil engineering aspects.
• Developing and reviewing technical guidelines for HV substation construction.
• Supporting quality assurance activities during substation construction and installation.
• Coordinating technical project activities from tender preparation and contract award through to project completion and handover.
• Collaborating with project managers and project teams on progress reporting, budget forecasting, scheduling, and construction meetings.
• Ensuring that customer requirements are implemented in compliance with applicable standards, regulations, and safety requirements.
• Assessing and comparing technical and economic alternatives to support investment decisions.
• Contributing technical expertise to multidisciplinary project teams and client discussions.

What we're looking for

Essential qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• Experience working on infrastructure projects as a civil engineer, design engineer, consulting engineer, or project manager.
• Understanding of civil engineering requirements for power infrastructure projects, particularly HV substations and associated facilities, such as buildings, roads, trenches, steel structures, cable support systems, and control buildings.
• Experience in civil works planning, design, tendering, supervision, and quality control.
• Ability to define scopes of work for greenfield projects as well as extension and rehabilitation projects.
• Experience working effectively with multidisciplinary project teams.
• Professional working proficiency in English and German.

Preferred qualifications

• The following qualifications are considered an asset:
• Experience leading engineering teams on complex power infrastructure projects.
• Experience with international development bank-financed projects.
• Experience implementing projects in accordance with HOAI.
• Certification in project management and/or FIDIC.
• Familiarity with iTWO, SAP, and MS Office.
• Knowledge of French and/or additional languages.
