Occupational Therapist Degree

Job Description: As a member of the interdisciplinary team, and under the general direction of the program area manager, as applicable, the Occupational Therapist Degree is responsible for providing direct specialized care from a recovery service perspective that is inclusionary and flexible for individuals with moderate to severe and persistent mental illness, addiction and concurrent disorders. This position is with Primary Health Care - South Network.

Knowledge and Abilities

• Knowledge of how addictions impact the individual, community and families
• Ability to prioritize work
• Knowledge of the Mental Health Services Act
• Proficient in the operation of word processing, spreadsheet and power point
• Highly developed written and oral communication skills
• Provide public education regarding mental health and addiction concerns
• Demonstrated knowledge of evidence-based research and clinical practice
• Sound knowledge of mental health and addictions theory.
• Working knowledge of Suicide Intervention skills
• Demonstrated working knowledge in the area of recovery model
• Ability to work independently and as a member of a multi-disciplinary team
• Ability to provide individual, group and crisis management counselling skills

• Registered/eligible with Canadian Association of Occupational Therapy (CAOT)
• Registered/eligible with the Saskatchewan Society of Occupational Therapists
• Valid Class 5 driver's license
• Based out of Wascana Rehab Centre for Primary Health Care
