The Naik Laboratory is seeking highly motivated postdocs to lead projects aimed at atopic diseases represented by atopic dermatitis are highly prevalent in neonates, however, the underlying mechanism is not well understood. We established a new mouse model in which allergen induced skin inflammation in neonate mice but not in adult mice. By applying mouse genetic tools, bulk RNA sequencing, single cell RNA sequencing, multiparameter flow cytometry, and immunofluorescent imaging we are able to reveal the mechanism about how neonate and adult immune cells differently response to common allergens. Mentoring and training of undergraduate, master and rotation PhD. students, and technicians. Assist with publishing manuscripts and grant writing.

Goals/Outcomes of the Research Project: Shedding light on better clinical treatment of infant atopic diseases.

Technical Duties

• Perform independent research in the area of experiments and technics are driven by scientific aims, including but not restricted to transgenic mouse breeding, in vivo drug delivery and mouse sample collecting, flow cytometry, bulk RNA sequencing, single cell RNA sequencing, confocal microscope imaging, ELISA, quantitative PCR, in vitro cell and organoids culture, tissue cryosectioning and immunofluorescent staining.
• Critically analyze data quality and results, communicate results to scientists and lay people
• Write or assist in writing scientific papers and grants
• Collaborate closely with other scientists to conduct research

Qualifications

• Ph.D. required
• Experience working in a research laboratory setting

This position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement between the ISMMS and the Sinai Postdoctoral Organizing Committee - UAW.

Compensation Statement

The Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides salary ranges that comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $74,692.00 - $80,000.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and operational need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
