Brown & Brown is seeking a Business Development Representative to join our growing team in Milwaukee, WI.

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated professional who is passionate about sales, relationship building, and business development. Through training, mentorship, and hands-on experience, you will develop the skills necessary to build a successful career while helping drive growth across our Employee Benefits and Property & Casualty practices.

As a Business Development Representative, you will partner closely with Producers and sales leaders to identify new business opportunities, engage prospective clients, generate qualified leads, and develop a strong pipeline of opportunities. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys networking, prospecting, building relationships, and contributing directly to business growth.

How You Will Contribute

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities through outbound prospecting, networking, referrals, and strategic outreach initiatives.
  • Research prospective clients and conduct needs analyses to uncover business challenges and opportunities.
  • Build and maintain relationships with business owners, executives, and key decision-makers through phone calls, emails, social media, and in-person interactions.
  • Schedule and coordinate meetings between qualified prospects and Producers.
  • Partner with Employee Benefits and Property & Casualty sales teams to develop targeted prospecting strategies.
  • Facilitate sales calls and provide Producers with qualified lead information.
  • Leverage CRM systems, sales tools, and market intelligence platforms to generate leads and manage prospect activity.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date prospect, pipeline, and activity information within CRM systems.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to deliver a seamless prospect and client experience.
  • Consistently meet or exceed activity, appointment-setting, and pipeline development goals.
  • Attend training opportunities to remain current on industry trends, products, coverages, legislation, and emerging market opportunities.
  • Represent Brown & Brown professionally at networking events, industry functions, and community engagements.

Skills & Experience to Be Successful

Required

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Self-motivated with a desire to develop a career in sales and business development.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Exceptional telephone and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to confidently engage prospective clients and build rapport.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team environment.
  • Willingness to obtain and maintain an insurance license.

Preferred

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or related field.
  • 1+ years of business development, sales, customer service, prospecting, or lead generation experience.
  • Experience utilizing CRM systems and sales prospecting tools.
  • Insurance industry experience is a plus but not required.

Pay Range

60000 - 100000 Annual

The pay range provided above is made in good faith and based on our lowest and highest annual salary or hourly rate paid for the role and takes into account years of experience required, geography, and/or budget for the role.
